Warranty Policy

Scope of this Policy

This policy explains how warranty claims are handled where a product develops or exhibits a fault after delivery. If an item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, or if you've changed your mind after receiving it, please also refer to our Returns Policy.

Warranty on our Products

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Every product we sell comes with a manufacturer's warranty, which is included in each product's specifications on our website. We are dedicated to working closely with our customers to provide the best possible solution according to their needs and will strive to be as flexible as possible in our approach.

Warranty Conditions

To make a warranty claim, the following conditions must be met:

  • A proof of purchase (eg. the invoice showing payment for the product or other proof of purchase) must be provided;
  • The warranty applies only to the original end user of the product and is not transferable;
  • The warranty period is not extended or renewed as a result of a warranty repair or replacement;
  • The warranty applies only to items purchased through Solar 4 RVs or our authorised resellers.

This warranty does not cover a defect or fault to the extent that it was caused by:

  • Failure to install or operate the product according to the instructions and/or specifications;
  • Inappropriate use of the product or use for purposes other than its intended design;
  • Neglect, careless handling, or mistreatment of the product;
  • Accidental damage to the product;
  • Tampering with any part of the product or its attachments;
  • Contamination or damage to the product by foreign materials or inappropriate cleaning agents;
  • Unauthorised repairs or modifications;
  • Changes in the product's condition or performance due to incorrect storage, installation, application, maintenance, environmental factors, or other influences.

Warranty Exclusions

Where a product is installed as part of a larger electrical system, the customer and/or installer is responsible for ensuring that the system is appropriately designed, installed and protected. This includes the use of suitably rated fuses, circuit breakers, regulators, isolators, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, and other protective devices where reasonably appropriate for the installation.

The system must be designed so that, so far as reasonably practicable, a fault or failure in one component does not cause avoidable damage to other equipment, wiring, batteries, appliances, the vehicle, caravan, vessel, building or other property.

Damage to the product, connected equipment or other property is not covered under the applicable voluntary warranty to the extent that the damage was caused or increased by inadequate system protection, incorrect wiring, incompatible equipment, incorrect system design, failure to use reasonably appropriate protective devices, or failure to follow the product manufacturer's installation requirements.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

IMPORTANT: Contact us before taking any action. It's crucial that you leave the product in place so we can discuss the issue. This allows us to:

  • Discuss any tests you can perform;
  • Try to determine the extent and root cause of the problem;
  • Eliminate potential issues with connected items such as cables or connectors.

This is particularly important for solar panels. If you've already removed the solar panels from their installation site before making a warranty claim, we may not be able to approve the claim because damage can occur to the panels during the removal process, and it may not be possible to identify the original cause of the problem or fault; unless unsafe, leave the product or component in place in order for us to investigate the root cause of the problem. Here's how to proceed with your warranty claim:

  • We'll first try to understand how and why the product is faulty by asking some questions and guiding you through some simple tests, investigations, assessments, or analyses that you can perform;
  • We'll likely need photos of the product in its installed location, particularly for solar panels;
  • After identifying the cause of the fault, we'll guide you through the next steps to resolve the issue.

This warranty is generally a back-to-base warranty. Solar 4 RVs may require the product to be returned for assessment in accordance with the warranty claim process.

We're committed to providing the highest level of customer service, and we'll work diligently to resolve any issues under warranty quickly and effectively.
