48V Lithium Batteries for Off-Grid Homes and Sheds
LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries for 48V off-grid systems. They can be cycled deeply every day, hold their voltage through the discharge and need no maintenance, which suits a home or shed that runs on stored solar power every night.
Sizing the bank
Each 48V 100Ah battery stores about 5 kWh. Add up the energy the home or shed uses overnight and over cloudy days, then allow headroom so the bank is not run flat.
Before buying, check that the battery is compatible with your inverter-charger and solar controllers, and how many can be connected in parallel. Victron Smart NG batteries need a compatible Victron BMS.
