Premium Tesla Electrical Components for Caravans & RVs
When wiring a 240V system in your caravan, RV, marine vessel, or tiny home, safety and compliance are paramount. Tesla Electrical Components delivers robust, highly reliable electrical fittings specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of mobile and remote off-grid electrical systems. Whether you are building a custom 4WD canopy, renovating a vintage camper, or designing a commercial truck fit-out, choosing the correct power points and switches is a critical step in your electrical design.
The Importance of Double Pole Power Points
Unlike standard household electrical fittings, mobile applications demand a higher level of protection. Australian Standard AS/NZS 3001 dictates that transportable structures and recreational vehicles must utilise double pole switching. A Tesla double pole 10Amp GPO outlet safely disconnects both the active and neutral wires simultaneously. This is essential for protecting you and your equipment in scenarios where reverse polarity might occur, such as plugging into older, unverified shore power boxes at remote campsites, or when seamlessly switching between shore power and off-grid inverter power.
Tesla electrical power points are engineered to offer this critical isolation, providing peace of mind whether you are moored at a marina in your boat or parked deep in the outback.
Sleek Design and Ultra Durable Construction
Aesthetics should never be compromised for safety. Tesla electrical components offer a refined look that integrates beautifully into modern off-grid interiors. Available in crisp white or a sleek matte black finish, these power points complement any cabinetry or wall panelling.
- True Double Pole Switching: Complete isolation of both active and neutral lines for full mobile compliance.
- 10Amp Load Rating: Comfortably handles a wide range of everyday travel appliances and device chargers.
- Colour Variations: Choose between classic white and modern black to match your RV or tiny home decor seamlessly.
- Ultra Durable Materials: Constructed from impact-resistant plastics to withstand the constant vibration of 4WD touring and marine environments.
- Tactile Operation: Smooth switch mechanisms engineered for thousands of safe, reliable operations.
Integrating Your 240V Off-Grid System
A comprehensive mobile power system requires careful planning and compatible hardware. To complete your 240V circuit, these Tesla GPO outlets pair perfectly with standard caravan wiring systems. We highly recommend reviewing our broader 240V Equipment collection to source compatible installation hardware. Additionally, to ensure your high-voltage network remains entirely protected from surges and faults, route your power through appropriate Circuit Protection: Breakers, Fuses & Switches before it ever reaches the outlet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are double pole GPOs mandatory in caravans and RVs?
Yes. Under the AS/NZS 3001 electrical standard, any transportable structure, caravan, or RV connected to a 240V supply must use double pole switches on all General Purpose Outlets. This prevents hazardous shocks if the external power supply is wired incorrectly.
Can I use Tesla electrical components for an off-grid tiny home?
Absolutely. Tesla double pole power points are ideal for tiny homes, off-grid cabins, and transportable buildings. They provide the critical safety isolation required in hybrid and standalone 240V inverter systems.
Do these outlets support standard travel appliances?
Yes, the Tesla 10Amp GPO outlets handle standard Australian 240V plugs, making them perfect for running travel ovens, charging laptops, or operating typical off-grid appliances without issue.
