48V to 12V Converters for Golf Carts
Most golf cart accessories, such as LED lights, USB chargers, horns, fans and radios, run on 12V. A 48V to 12V DC-DC converter powers them from the main battery. On a lead-acid cart, that avoids wiring accessories across one battery in the pack, which drains that battery faster than the rest.
Choosing a converter
- Size: add up the current of the 12V accessories you will run at the same time, then choose a converter above that: 9A, 20A, 30A or 60A.
- Isolated or non-isolated: the Orion-Tr models are isolated, keeping the 48V and 12V circuits electrically separate. The Orion 48/12-60A is non-isolated and rated IP20, so mount it in a dry, protected spot.
