48V Lithium Golf Cart Batteries and Chargers
Swapping a lead-acid pack for a 48V LiFePO4 battery saves a lot of weight and gives steady voltage right through the charge. Both Exotronic Alpha 48V batteries here are 51.2V LiFePO4 with Bluetooth monitoring and an IP67 case.
Check the current your cart needs
Both batteries are rated for 100A continuous discharge. That suits most carts on flat or gently rolling ground. Hilly courses, lifted carts, six-seaters and upgraded motors can draw more than 100A for long periods. For those, connect two batteries in parallel for 200A continuous; both models support up to four in parallel. Two High Current 50Ah batteries give 100Ah at about 38 kg. Check your cart's motor controller rating, and follow the battery manual for cabling and protection.
Replace the charger too
Many lead-acid golf cart chargers have no lithium profile and can equalise or float at the wrong voltage for LiFePO4. Use a 48V charger with a lithium charge profile, set to the battery maker's published voltages.
