History
In 2013 Phil and Trish bought a new 21ft caravan that they wanted to fit out with a quality solar power system, however, there were no companies offering integrated, customised solutions for off-grid power for caravans and other RVs. They undertook extensive research and produced a business plan to set up a company and register the trading name Solar 4 RVs. Product testing was conducted to ensure their range of integrated products were of the highest quality and specifically suited to caravans and RVs.
The business quickly expanded into marine applications and providing engineered solar power solutions for mobile off-grid industrial applications. They registered the trading names 'Solar 4 Boats' and 'Solar 4 Industry'. The business has won numerous awards recognising the leadership in lightweight solar.
In early 2020 son Chris and his partner Amie became Directors of Solar 4 RVs and took over the day to day management of the business with Phil and Trish providing support. Phil now looks after battery management system sales plus has input into various projects.Â
Chris and Amie are committed to ensuring customers have complete satisfaction with their solar power purchase.  Their matching work ethics and complementary skill sets are the key to their success.
Amie Wilkinson
Director
Amie Wilkinson is the Director at Solar 4 RVs, where she leads the team and steers the company's day-to-day operations. Her oversight spans sales, accounts, administration, HR, and strategic budgeting, ensuring the business runs with maximum efficiency and profitability.
Drawing on over a decade of experience in demanding management roles, Amie combines a big-picture vision with a detail-oriented approach.
A passionate advocate for environmental sustainability, Amie is proud to lead a company that aligns her professional ambitions with her core values, delivering innovative solar solutions to the RV community.
Chris Chapallaz
CEO
As CEO of Solar 4 RVs, Chris Chapallaz provides the technical and strategic leadership that powers the business. His role encompasses both product innovation and operational automation. He directs all purchasing and works directly with manufacturers to develop a cutting-edge product range perfectly suited for the RV lifestyle.
Behind the scenes, Chris personally architects the company’s digital infrastructure, writing code to integrate systems and streamline day-to-day processes. This unique, hands-on approach ensures maximum efficiency from the warehouse to the customer. Grounded in his background as an electrician, Chris’s passion for renewables and elegant problem-solving defines the company’s commitment to quality and service.
In previous roles, Chris has worked as a qualified Electrician since 2008, where he was involved in both the design and install of solar systems and other installation works. Taking advantage of the mining boom, Chris' skills were utilised in the maintenance and repair of mine site large diesel-electric vehicles. Chris then moved to the role of Electrical and Instrumentation Technician at a large-scale combined cycle power station. Whilst working full time, Chris furthered his education and studied Electrical & Electronics at the University of Queensland.
