How to use the result safely
Record where the circuit starts and ends, measure the intended route and use the continuous load expected in normal operation. After calculating, check both voltage drop and current-carrying capacity; neither should be considered in isolation. Confirm that lugs, terminals, fuse holders and isolation devices accept the selected conductor.
This calculator supports planning and comparison. Final conductor selection and protection must also follow the cable manufacturer’s ratings, equipment instructions, installation environment and relevant standards. Seek a qualified installer where required.
