DESCRIPTION
Victron 48V to 24V Orion 48/12-60A Non-Isolated IP20 DC-DC Converter
The Victron 48V to 12V 60A Orion Non-Isolated DC-DC Converter provides a highly efficient and robust solution for stepping down 48-volt power systems to support standard 12-volt equipment. Engineered for seamless integration into extensive off-grid properties, commercial marine vessels, and specialised industrial power setups, this converter reliably runs 12V communication devices, lighting, and auxiliary accessories directly from a larger 48V battery bank. Capable of delivering up to 60 amps (approximately 720 watts) of continuous output current, it ensures a highly stable energy delivery mechanism for essential electrical loads while maintaining an efficient conversion process.
Integrated Remote Control Capabilities
A key structural advantage of this model is the inclusion of a dedicated remote on/off connector. This practical addition completely eliminates the requirement for installing a heavy-duty, high-current switch on the input wiring, which can often be expensive and cumbersome. Instead, the unit can be conveniently toggled using a standard low-power switch, or it can be wired to respond automatically to an engine run/stop mechanism. This capability streamlines the overall installation process and reduces the length of heavy-gauge cable required, leading to a cleaner and more secure wiring arrangement.
Adjustable Voltage and Charging Capability
Beyond standard step-down conversion, the adjustable output feature significantly increases the operational versatility of this device. Because the output voltage can be finely tuned to match specific charging profiles, this converter functions exceptionally well as a multi-stage-equivalent continuous power supply or battery charger. It is highly suitable for safely charging a dedicated 12V starter battery, or maintaining a secondary 12V accessory bank within an overarching 48V infrastructure. This dual-purpose capability helps reduce the need for purchasing separate, standalone battery chargers.
- High-Power Delivery: Supplies up to 60A of continuous output, providing ample power for demanding 12V appliances and DC circuits.
- Remote On/Off Functionality: Easily integrates with low-power switches or external control circuits, simplifying system design and wiring requirements.
- Adjustable Output Design: Can be precisely calibrated, allowing the unit to act as a reliable 12V battery charger for auxiliary storage.
- System Scalability: Supports parallel connection of up to five individual units, enabling massive increases in total output current as demands grow.
- Non-Isolated Architecture: Operates highly efficiently in standard systems where the input and output share a common negative connection.
- Robust Enclosure: Features an IP20 rating designed for clean, dry, and protected indoor or compartment installations.
Modular and Expandable Architecture
For complex energy environments where power demands are likely to increase over time, the Orion 48/12-60A converter fully supports parallel operation. System designers can wire up to five identical Orion units together to substantially scale the total output capacity. This modular approach ensures that off-grid and marine systems can be expanded without the financial penalty of discarding existing hardware. As new 12V loads are added to the network, additional converters seamlessly integrate to share the burden.
Consistent Power Management
Manufactured to exacting standards, this DC-DC converter manages the voltage step-down process with minimal energy loss and low heat generation. By stabilising the power delivered to sensitive 12-volt electronics, it helps extend the operational lifespan of connected equipment and mitigates the risks associated with voltage drops or fluctuations. Designed for consistent, long-term use, the Victron Orion series stands as a highly dependable method for optimising and dividing electrical architecture in multi-voltage installations.

WARRANTY
Victron Energy Limited Warranty Policy
Direct Customers
Victron Energy provides the following warranty to any direct customer (OEM, distributor or dealer) in relation to any products that Victron Energy has directly sold to the direct customer. This warranty is not an end-user warranty between Victron Energy and an end-user, and end-users shall not have any rights or remedies under this limited warranty towards Victron Energy directly. The direct customer shall, in turn, ensure that the end-user is provided with a warranty identical to this warranty, subject to applicable local mandatory law.
End-Users
Victron Energy may also provide a warranty directly to end-users, in which case the below warranty conditions equally apply to such warranty. In that case, end-users shall claim their warranty at their place of purchase or through the original direct customer of Victron, which can be found through the support section on Victron’s website. Hence, the direct customer shall on behalf of Victron Energy deal with any warranty claims made under any warranty that Victron Energy may provide directly to end-users. This support section on Victron’s website will provide further guidance on the procedure for end-users to make a claim under this limited warranty.
If the end-user is a consumer – a natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside that person's trade, business, craft or profession – the following applies. The rights and remedies granted to the consumer under this limited warranty are without prejudice to the consumer’s statutory rights. Furthermore, the consumer is entitled by law to remedies from the seller free of charge in the event of a lack of conformity of the goods (such as repair, replacement, price reduction or rescission), which remedies are not affected by this limited warranty.
Warranty
Victron Energy warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the original end-user, with a maximum of 66 months from the Victron Energy invoice date. Exceptions on this are: lead-acid batteries: 2 years from date of purchase by the original end-user, with a maximum of 30 months from the Victron Energy invoice date, Lithium batteries: 3 years from date of purchase by the original end-user, with a maximum of 42 months from the Victron Energy invoice date. In addition to this, proof of correct battery usage is required when making a battery warranty claim.
For a 10% surcharge on the current net price for products that came with a 5-year warranty, an additional 5 years of warranty can be purchased by Victron’s direct customers, bringing the total warranty to 10 years. Warranty extensions need to be applied for ultimately one year before the expiration of the original term. Victron may ask proof that the product was still functional at the time of purchase of the extended warranty.
During the warranty period, Victron Energy will, at its discretion, repair, replace or (partly) credit the defective product free of charge. The warranty does not include performing or reimbursing de‐installation, transportation, and re‐installation.
