DESCRIPTION
Next-Generation Battery Management for High-Capacity Lithium Systems
The Victron Lynx Smart BMS 1000 NG (NextGen) stands as the ultimate command centre for your energy storage, specifically engineered to integrate seamlessly with Victron Lithium Battery Smart models. Designed for complex power setups in marine vessels, off-grid properties, and high-demand industrial applications, this advanced Battery Management System ensures your 12V, 24V, or 48V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery banks operate safely and efficiently.
Unlike standard controllers, the Lynx Smart BMS goes beyond simple cell balancing. It actively protects your power system from deep discharges, overcharging, and extreme temperatures, prolonging the lifespan of your heavy-duty battery arrays. With a robust 1000A continuous current rating and surge capabilities up to 1200A for five minutes, it easily handles the high loads of demanding inverter networks and parallel configurations.
Integrated Pre-Charge Circuit and Primary Safety Contactor
One of the most critical challenges when powering up high-capacity inverter systems is managing the initial rush of electrical current. The integrated pre-charge circuit resolves this completely. By safely charging the internal capacitors of connected inverters before the main contactor engages, it prevents damaging inrush currents that can degrade components over time. This eliminates the need for manual pre-charging steps or external resistors, reducing installation complexity and lowering the risk of hardware faults.
Additionally, the built-in safety contactor acts as a dependable secondary safety mechanism. It provides an immediate physical disconnect in the event of a critical system fault, isolating your batteries to prevent severe damage. This contactor can also be controlled remotely, giving users the ability to manually shut down the system during maintenance or long-term storage.
Parallel Redundancy for Mission-Critical Power
The "NG" NextGen series introduces a highly requested feature for complex electrical architectures: parallel redundancy. By installing multiple Lynx Smart BMS units in parallel, system builders can drastically increase overall storage capacity while establishing a failsafe network. In the event of an isolated communication or hardware issue, the redundant architecture allows your system to maintain safe, continuous operation. This ensures your off-grid home or commercial marine vessel never experiences an unexpected total power loss.
Comprehensive Monitoring and System Integration
Full visibility into your power usage is crucial for long-term reliability. Equipped with built-in Bluetooth, this Victron BMS allows installers and end-users to monitor real-time battery voltage, temperature data, and system health directly from a smartphone or tablet using the VictronConnect app.
For more advanced setups, the included VE.Can port allows direct communication with Victron GX devices, such as the Cerbo GX. This enables global remote monitoring via the VRM portal. Furthermore, native NMEA 2000 compatibility ensures the system integrates flawlessly into modern marine networks, displaying crucial energy metrics right on your glass bridge or multi-function display.
