DESCRIPTION
Blue Sea Systems ST Blade Fuse Block: Centralised Power Distribution for Marine and RV Systems
Streamline Your 12V and 24V Electrical Systems
The Blue Sea Systems ST Blade Fuse Block (12 Circuits) is the industry standard for consolidating branch circuits in demanding mobile environments. Designed to eliminate the "rats' nest" of in-line fuses and messy wiring often found in boats, caravans, and 4WD canopies, this distribution block offers a professional, safe, and reliable solution for managing your DC electrical connections.
Engineered for 12V and 24V systems (rated up to 32V DC), this unit allows you to power up to 12 separate accessories—such as fridges, lighting, water pumps, and navigation electronics—from a single reliable source. With a maximum total amperage of 100A per block and 30A per circuit, it is robust enough to handle the power requirements of modern off-grid setups while ensuring specific circuits are protected against overcurrent faults.
Integrated Negative Bus for Simplified Wiring
One of the standout features of this model is the integrated negative bus. In many electrical installations, finding a clean and accessible location for return lines (grounding) can be a challenge, often leading to stacked terminals on battery posts. This fuse block includes a built-in negative bus with #10-32 (Approx. M5) stud terminals, allowing you to run both positive and negative wires to the same block.
This design not only saves significant installation time but also reduces the number of connections required, minimising voltage drop and potential failure points. It creates a compact, self-contained power hub that makes troubleshooting easier in the future.
Marine-Grade Durability and ABYC Compliance
Built to withstand harsh saltwater and outdoor environments, the unit features tin-plated copper buses and fuse clips. This plating provides superior corrosion resistance compared to bare copper, ensuring consistent conductivity over the life of the vessel or vehicle. The base is constructed from reinforced polycarbonate, offering excellent heat resistance and strength.
The included insulating cover is designed to satisfy ABYC and USCG requirements for electrical insulation, protecting the fuses from accidental short circuits. The cover features an easy-to-open push-button latch, storage space for two spare fuses, and label recesses that accept Blue Sea Systems' Small Format Labels (sold separately), ensuring your system is clearly identified and compliant.
Key Features
- 12 Independent Circuits: consolidate varying loads into one central hub
- Integrated Negative Bus: simplifies wiring by providing a central ground point
- High Current Rating: Supports 100A total continuous current and 30A per circuit
- Corrosion Resistant: Tin-plated copper components for marine longevity
- Safety Cover Included: Meets insulation requirements and stores spare fuses
- Wide Voltage Range: Suitable for 12V and 24V DC systems (Max 32V DC)
Installation and Technical Context
This fuse block is designed for versatility. It accepts standard ATO® and ATC® fast-acting blade fuses, which are widely available and easy to replace. The main positive distribution bus utilises a #10-32 (Approx. M5) stud, while the branch circuits use #8-32 (Approx. M4) screws with captive star lock washers to ensure secure connections even under vibration.
*Note: While rated for 100A maximum, typical de-rating factors apply based on ambient temperature and wire sizing. Ensure your supply cable is fused appropriately at the battery source.
Whether you are refitting a yacht or building a custom 12V system for a camper trailer, the Blue Sea Systems 5026 fuse block delivers the reliability and organization required for professional-grade electrical installations.
Secure Your Electrical System
Upgrade to the Blue Sea Systems 12 Circuit ST Blade Fuse Block today for a safer, cleaner, and more reliable power distribution system in your boat or vehicle.
