Blue Sea 35-300A ANL Fuse Holder with Insulating Cover

DESCRIPTION

Heavy-Duty Circuit Protection for 12V and 24V DC Electrical Systems

Managing high-current loads in automotive, marine, and off-grid power systems requires dependable overcurrent protection that does not compromise system efficiency. The Blue Sea Systems 5005B ANL Fuse Holder is engineered for demanding DC environments up to 32V, making it suitable for both 12V and 24V battery banks. Supporting ANL fuses from 35A to 300A, this holder provides a secure, thermally stable mounting point to safeguard inverters, windlasses, bow thrusters, and high-output alternators from damaging short circuits and current overloads.

Practical Swing-Out Design for Rapid Servicing

Traditional fuse holders often require complete fastener removal to swap a blown fuse, increasing the risk of dropping washers or nuts into tight engine bays or battery compartments. The Blue Sea 5005B solves this maintenance challenge with an innovative swing-out design. By simply loosening the terminal nuts, the fuse can be pivoted out for quick replacement without fully removing the hardware. This reduces system downtime and simplifies maintenance in confined installation spaces.

Engineered for Low Resistance and High Thermal Stability

Inferior fuse holders can introduce voltage drop and excessive heat buildup at the connection points, risking melted housings or premature fuse failure. This unit is constructed with tin-plated copper mounting blocks to ensure maximum conductivity and superior corrosion resistance in damp or coastal environments. The base is moulded from UL 94-V0 reinforced polycarbonate, engineered to withstand high operating temperatures generated by heavy continuous loads.

To ensure mechanical integrity under vibration, the insert-moulded stainless steel studs prevent the posts from spinning when applying high tightening torque. This allows installers to achieve a tight, low-resistance clamp on heavy-gauge battery lugs without stripping the base material.

  • Swing-out fuse access: Enables fast fuse replacement without completely removing terminal fasteners.
  • High-conductivity contacts: Tin-plated copper mounting blocks minimise voltage drop and resist marine corrosion.
  • Robust terminal hardware: 5/16"-18 (Approx. M8) stainless steel studs support high torqueing for secure connections.
  • Heavy cable compatibility: Accommodates heavy-duty ring terminals and battery cables up to 2/0 AWG (approx. 70mm2).
  • Multi-directional routing: Clear insulating cover meets ABYC/USCG safety requirements and features removable breakouts for cable entry from multiple angles.
  • High-temperature base: Glass-filled polycarbonate construction resists heat deformation under heavy current loads.

Important Installation Notes

This unit is supplied as the fuse holder and insulating cover only; the ANL fuse is sold separately, allowing you to select the exact amperage rating required for your specific wire gauge and appliance load. The clear protective cover snaps securely in place to prevent accidental short circuits from dropped tools or shifting gear, while allowing immediate visual inspection of the fuse element.

Upgrade Your DC Circuit Safety

Select the Blue Sea 35-300A ANL Fuse Holder for your next 12V or 24V electrical build to ensure compliant, low-resistance circuit protection across your high-amperage DC equipment.
