Blue Sea MIDI Fuse Block Safety Cover
Blue Sea MIDI Fuse Block Safety Cover
200A Ignition-Protected Sealed Enclosure for Up to 4/0 AWG (95mm2) Wire

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty Circuit Protection for Marine and Off-Grid Electrical Systems
Managing high-current distribution requires robust hardware capable of withstanding severe environmental conditions. The Blue Sea Systems BS-7720B MIDI / AMI Safety Fuse Block is engineered to provide dependable, compact circuit protection for main branch circuits, windlasses, inverter feeds, and high-output alternators. Supporting up to 200A when paired with heavy-duty 4/0 AWG (approx. 95mm2 to 107mm2) battery cable, this unit safeguards critical electrical infrastructure across marine vessels, 4WDs, caravans, and off-grid power setups.
Ignition Protection and Marine-Grade Compliance
In marine and mobile environments, exposed terminals and unsealed fuses pose significant safety hazards. Unprotected connections are vulnerable to accidental short circuits from dropped tools or shifting gear, as well as accelerated corrosion from salt spray and moisture ingress. The BS-7720B resolves these vulnerabilities through a comprehensive, sealed enclosure design.
Featuring a durable, transparent insulating cover, this fuse block satisfies strict ABYC and USCG insulation requirements. More importantly, it is fully ignition-protected, making it safe for installation aboard both petrol and diesel-powered boats. By containing potential electrical arcs within the sealed housing, it significantly reduces the risk of igniting flammable bilge vapours or surrounding gases.
Key Features and Installation Benefits
- Sealed Insulating Cover: Protects the internal MIDI or AMI fuse and conductive studs from harsh marine moisture, salt spray, and accidental contact while allowing instant visual inspection of the fuse state.
- Ignition Protected: Engineered for safe operation in engine rooms and enclosed compartments on petrol and diesel vessels.
- Multi-Directional Wire Access: Integrated cover breakouts can be selectively removed to allow heavy-gauge cable entry from multiple directions, simplifying complex wiring layouts in tight spaces.
- Corrosion-Resistant Hardware: Equipped with heavy-duty stainless steel terminal studs that ensure low-resistance connections and long-term durability when terminating large lugs.
- Clear Circuit Identification: Includes a dedicated recessed area on the cover that accepts Blue Sea Systems Square Format standard or custom labels for clean, professional system documentation.
- High-Current Capacity: Rated for up to 200A maximum continuous current when wired with appropriately sized 4/0 AWG (approx. 95mm2 to 107mm2) conductors.
Engineered for Flexible System Integration
Unlike basic open-style fuse holders that leave terminals exposed or restrict cable routing to a single axis, the Blue Sea Systems Safety Fuse Block is designed for practical installation in real-world electrical cabinets. The removable side breakouts accommodate thick insulation on heavy cables without compromising the protective barrier of the cover. Whether you are building a custom 12V, 24V, or 48V battery bank distribution board in a camper trailer or upgrading the main DC fusing on a commercial vessel, this unit provides a tidy, compliant, and resilient mounting point.
Please note: This listing includes the MIDI fuse block base and sealed safety cover. MIDI / AMI fuses are sold separately to allow selection of the exact amperage rating required for your specific circuit and cable size.
Upgrade Your Circuit Protection
Ensure your high-amperage DC wiring meets professional marine and automotive safety standards. Add the Blue Sea Systems MIDI Safety Fuse Block to your electrical build for reliable, compliant circuit protection.
