Blue Sea 50A C-Series Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker
Blue Sea 50A C-Series Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker
Combined Switching & Protection - Rear Stud Terminals & Panel Mount

DESCRIPTION
Integrated 50A Circuit Switching and Overcurrent Protection
The Blue Sea C-Series 50A Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker delivers dependable electrical circuit protection alongside convenient manual switching in a single, compact unit. Engineered for demanding mobile, marine, and off-grid power architectures, this magnetic hydraulic breaker eliminates the need to wire separate switches and fuse holders. By consolidating these functions, it simplifies switchboard layouts, reduces potential failure points, and ensures your high-draw appliances and distribution lines remain protected against electrical faults and overloads.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual-Function Design: Combines heavy-duty 50A overcurrent protection and manual ON/OFF circuit switching into one streamlined component.
- Trip-Free Mechanism: Internal safety engineering ensures the breaker cannot be manually held in the closed (ON) position while an active fault or overcurrent condition exists.
- Magnetic Hydraulic Operation: Provides consistent, accurate trip thresholds without being falsely triggered by elevated ambient temperatures in engine bays or enclosed canopies.
- Visual Status Indication: Features a high-visibility white toggle switch against a black enclosure for immediate visual confirmation of circuit status.
- Robust Rear Stud Terminals: Heavy-duty rear connection studs accommodate ring terminals securely, ensuring low-resistance connections for high-current wiring.
- Secure Panel Mounting: Integrated threaded mounting inserts allow for straightforward, vibration-resistant installation into custom switch panels and dashboards.
Engineered for Reliability in Harsh Environments
Unlike standard thermal breakers or low-grade aftermarket fuses that can suffer from voltage drop, nuisance tripping in hot climates, or corroded contacts, the Blue Sea Systems C-Series is built to withstand harsh operating conditions. The magnetic hydraulic actuation relies on current flow rather than heat to trigger a trip. Whether installed in a hot 4WD canopy, a boat console exposed to coastal conditions, or a compact caravan electrical cabinet, this 50A breaker maintains reliable performance.
Furthermore, the integrated trip-free mechanism is a critical risk-reduction feature. In the event of a short circuit or severe overload, the internal contacts will disengage even if the white toggle actuator is physically held in the ON position, protecting both your wiring harness and connected equipment from thermal damage.
Versatile Applications for Marine, RV, and Off-Grid Systems
With its 50A continuous rating and robust construction, the BS-7244B is suited for a wide variety of primary and branch circuit applications across DC and AC electrical setups:
- Marine Electrical Panels: Ideal for protecting windlasses, bow thrusters, sub-panels, and high-draw bilge or washdown pumps.
- Caravan, RV, and 4WD Setups: Provides reliable switching and protection for DC-DC chargers, air compressors, solar charge controllers, and auxiliary battery distribution hubs.
- Off-Grid and Commercial Vehicles: Secures heavy-duty work lights, communications gear, and inverter feed lines where rapid manual isolation is required.
