Blue Sea 30A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Black

DESCRIPTION

Combined Circuit Switching and Magnetic Hydraulic Protection

The Blue Sea Systems A-Series 30A Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker (BS-7220B) delivers dependable electrical management by combining switching and overcurrent circuit protection into a single, compact device. Designed specifically for integration into Blue Sea Systems electrical panels, this breaker streamlines your switchboard layout by eliminating the need for separate switches and fuse holders. Whether you are outfitting a marine vessel, caravan, motorhome, or specialised off-grid power distribution system, the A-Series provides the precision engineering required for safe, continuous operation.

Why Choose Magnetic Hydraulic Technology?

Unlike standard thermal circuit breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, this A-Series breaker utilises an advanced magnetic hydraulic mechanism. In demanding Australian climates and enclosed engine bays or electrical cabinets, high ambient temperatures can cause traditional thermal breakers to experience nuisance tripping below their rated capacity. Conversely, cold environments can delay a thermal trip. A magnetic hydraulic circuit breaker responds purely to current flow variations, meaning its 30A trip profile remains consistent regardless of the surrounding ambient temperature. This reduces the risk of unexpected power dropouts to critical equipment while maintaining accurate fault response.

Engineered for Safety and Compliance

Electrical safety in mobile and marine applications requires components that perform predictably under fault conditions. The BS-7220B features a dedicated trip-free design, which is a vital safety mechanism that prevents the toggle actuator from being manually held in the ON position while a fault-current condition persists. This protects wiring harnesses, sensitive electronics, and battery banks from severe thermal damage or electrical fire risks caused by forced overrides.

  • Dual-Function Design: Combines manual circuit switching and 30A overcurrent protection into one unit to save valuable panel space.
  • Magnetic Hydraulic Operation: Ensures reliable trip accuracy that is unaffected by high ambient temperatures in enclosed cabins or engine rooms.
  • Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Cannot be held in the ON position during an active electrical fault, protecting downstream wiring and appliances.
  • Secure Panel Mounting: Incorporates threaded brass inserts for robust, vibration-resistant installation into electrical distribution panels.
  • Clear Visual Indicators: Features an ergonomic black toggle handle with a distinct 30A rating and clear OFF position indicator for immediate status checks.
  • Global Compliance: Meets stringent international safety and marine benchmarks, including ABYC standards, UL 1077 recognition, TUV certification, CE marking, and CSA certification.

Versatile Applications in Marine and Mobile Power

Built to meet American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) standards, the Blue Sea A-Series is widely regarded as an industry benchmark for marine electrical panels. Its corrosion-resistant materials and threaded brass mounting inserts ensure long-term durability in high-vibration and coastal environments. Beyond boats and yachts, it is equally suited for 4WD canopy setups, camper trailers, and industrial control panels where reliable 30A circuit isolation and protection are paramount.

Upgrade Your Electrical Panel

Ensure your power distribution system is protected against overloads and short circuits with industry-compliant hardware. Add the Blue Sea A-Series 30A Toggle Circuit Breaker to your custom panel build or system upgrade today for dependable circuit control.
