Blue Sea 230VAC 3x16A & 1x32A 3-Source Distribution Panel
Pre-Wired Buses, Mechanical Lockout Slide & Double-Pole Breakers

DESCRIPTION
Reliable Multi-Source AC Power Management for Marine and Off-Grid Systems
Managing multiple alternating current inputs safely is critical in complex mobile, marine, and off-grid electrical installations. The Blue Sea Systems 8598B AC Distribution Panel is engineered to provide safe, intuitive switching and circuit protection for 230VAC electrical systems. Designed for applications that utilise three distinct power sources, such as shore power, an onboard generator, and an inverter, this distribution panel consolidates source selection and load management into a single, professional interface.
Featuring a combination of three 16A circuits and one higher-capacity 32A circuit, this panel accommodates diverse power requirements. The 32A breaker is suited for heavy-duty primary inputs or high-draw appliances like air conditioning units and water heaters, while the 16A breakers manage standard AC branch circuits or secondary inputs. Unlike standard residential switchboards, this unit is built specifically for the demanding environments of marine vessels, motorhomes, and specialised commercial vehicles.
Engineered for Electrical Safety and Risk Reduction
When dealing with 230VAC systems in mobile or marine environments, preventing accidental cross-connection of power sources is paramount. Feeding shore power into an active inverter or generator can cause catastrophic equipment failure and significant safety hazards. This panel resolves that risk with a mechanical lockout slide system. The physical slide mechanism ensures that only one AC source breaker can be engaged at any given time, eliminating the possibility of back-feeding across sources.
Additionally, each main circuit breaker is a double-pole design, simultaneously disconnecting both the active (hot) and neutral conductors. This is an essential safety requirement in marine and RV applications to isolate the system fully. A dedicated red reverse polarity indicating LED provides an immediate visual warning if the incoming active and neutral lines are wired incorrectly at the source, allowing operators to disconnect before damaging sensitive onboard electronics.
Key Features and Installation Benefits
- Mechanical Source Lockout: Integrated sliding lockout mechanism prevents the simultaneous connection of multiple AC power sources, protecting inverters and generators from back-feed damage.
- Double-Pole Circuit Breakers: Main breakers switch both active and neutral poles simultaneously for comprehensive isolation and compliance with marine and mobile standards.
- Fully Pre-Wired Busbars: Supplied with active, neutral, and safety ground buses factory-installed and pre-wired to reduce installation time and minimise wiring errors.
- Integrated Visual Diagnostics: Features green ON indicating LEDs in all circuit positions and a red reverse polarity warning LED for instant system status monitoring.
- Backlit Circuit Labels: All label positions come standard with backlighting for clear identification in low-light cabins, engine rooms, or electrical lockers, with no additional kit required.
Streamlined Integration for Installers
For marine electricians and custom system builders, time spent terminating internal panel wiring adds unnecessary labour costs. This Blue Sea distribution panel arrives with its active, neutral, and safety ground buses fully installed and pre-wired. Installers only need to mount the panel, connect the incoming 230VAC sources, and terminate the outgoing load circuits. The built-in backlighting and pre-installed status LEDs further simplify the commissioning process, providing a clean, factory-grade finish out of the box.
Upgrade Your 230VAC Electrical System
Ensure safe, compliant, and effortless switching between your shore power, generator, and inverter inputs. Select this Blue Sea 3-source AC distribution panel for your next marine, RV, or off-grid power installation.
