Blue Sea 100A C-Series AC Double-Pole Raised Rocker Circuit Breaker

DESCRIPTION

High-Amperage AC Main Circuit Protection and Switching

Managing high-current alternating current (AC) power in marine, off-grid, and commercial vehicle environments requires robust, dependable overcurrent protection. The Blue Sea C-Series 100A AC Double-Pole Raised Rocker Circuit Breaker combines high-capacity switching and critical circuit protection into a single, streamlined device. Engineered specifically for demanding electrical panels, this breaker serves as a reliable AC main disconnect, safeguarding your wiring and appliances against dangerous overloads and short circuits.

By integrating switching and overcurrent protection into one unit, you eliminate the need for separate switches and fuse holders. This reduces connection points, simplifies panel layouts, and minimises potential points of failure in high-vibration environments such as boats, caravans, and mobile workspaces.

Simultaneous Double-Pole Disconnection

When managing 230V or 240V AC shore power, generator inputs, or large inverter outputs, isolating only the active conductor is insufficient for complete safety. In systems where polarity may be reversed or where neutral-to-ground voltage exists, disconnecting both the active (line) and neutral conductors is essential. This double-pole circuit breaker features an internal mechanical linkage that ensures both poles trip simultaneously if an overcurrent fault occurs on either line. This linked disconnection capability significantly reduces the risk of electrical shock during maintenance and protects sensitive downstream equipment from partial-fault damage.

Fail-Safe Trip-Free Engineering

Standard grade switches or inferior breakers can sometimes be forced to stay on during an electrical fault, leading to severe overheating and potential electrical fires. The Blue Sea C-Series incorporates a trip-free mechanism, meaning the internal contacts cannot be held closed manually if a fault current is present. Even if the raised rocker actuator is physically held in the ON position, the internal mechanism will override the switch and trip open, ensuring uncompromising safety for your electrical distribution system.

Built for Demanding Installations

Designed for professional electrical switchboards and custom power distribution panels, this 100A breaker features heavy-duty rear stud terminals to accommodate large-gauge cabling securely, preventing high-resistance hot spots under heavy loads. Integrated brass threaded mounting inserts allow for clean, secure front-panel installation that resists loosening over time.

  • Dual Functionality: Combines heavy-duty 100A switching and precise overcurrent circuit protection into a single panel-mounted device.
  • Linked Multi-Pole Tripping: Automatically disconnects both poles simultaneously if a fault is detected on either conductor, ideal for AC main active and neutral isolation.
  • Trip-Free Design: Internal safety mechanism disconnects the circuit during a fault condition even if the rocker switch is manually held in the ON position.
  • Ergonomic Raised Rocker: Provides clear visual status indication and positive tactile control for manual circuit switching.
  • Heavy-Duty Terminations: Rear-mounted stud terminals and integrated brass mounting inserts ensure secure mechanical and electrical connections in high-vibration applications.

Why Upgrade to Blue Sea C-Series Protection?

Inferior circuit protection devices often suffer from nuisance tripping in warm enclosures or fail to isolate circuits cleanly under heavy inductive loads. Choosing a purpose-built Blue Sea C-Series breaker mitigates the risk of thermal runaway and terminal degradation. Whether you are building a custom marine AC distribution board, installing a high-output off-grid inverter system, or upgrading a commercial vehicle's shore power inlet, this 100A double-pole breaker provides the mechanical durability and electrical reliability required for compliant, safe power management.

Secure Your AC Power Distribution

Ensure your high-current AC circuits are protected against overloads and faults. Add the Blue Sea C-Series 100A Double-Pole Circuit Breaker to your system build for dependable, professional-grade main circuit isolation.
