DESCRIPTION
Keep 50A Anderson Connections Clean, Protected and Ready
Dust, grit and moisture are common causes of high-resistance connections, intermittent power, and premature wear in Anderson-style DC connectors. This 50A Anderson plug rubber dust cover is designed to help protect exposed terminals when your plug isn’t mated—reducing contamination and helping your connection stay reliable over time.
Made from flexible, hard-wearing rubber, the cover is well suited to Australian conditions where corrugations, red dust, salt air and wet weather can all take a toll on electrical accessories. It’s a practical add-on for anyone running a 50A Anderson plug on a caravan drawbar, canopy, trailer, 4WD, boat, or in a workshop environment.
Why a Dust Cover Matters for Anderson Plugs
When a connector is left open, airborne dust and road grime can build up on the terminals. Over time, this can contribute to poor contact and voltage drop—especially on high-current lines such as battery charging, DC-DC charging feeds, auxiliary power, winches and portable solar inputs. A dust cap for Anderson plug helps keep the contact area cleaner between uses, which can reduce the need for frequent cleaning and help maintain consistent electrical performance.
It also provides an extra barrier against splashes and spray. While it’s not a substitute for correct cable sizing, sound crimping practices and suitable mounting, it’s a simple way to improve day-to-day protection for exposed connectors.
Secure Tethered Design for Everyday Use
This cover uses a retaining loop that stretches over the connector body to stay in place, plus a tethered cap to keep the cover attached when unplugged. That means less chance of losing the cap on the track or at the boat ramp, and faster re-fit when you disconnect.
Ideal for Caravans, 4WD, Trailers and Marine Setups
If your Anderson plug is mounted externally—on a bull bar, rear bar, drawbar, canopy or battery box—this weather-resistant Anderson plug cover provides a straightforward layer of protection when the connection is not in use. It’s also handy for spare leads and extension cables stored in toolboxes, drawers or tubs, where dust and debris can accumulate during travel.
