Glass-free construction
eArc modules use crystalline-silicon cells with composite front materials instead of conventional module glass.
Sunman eArc · glass-free solar
Compare glass-free, lightweight crystalline-silicon panels for caravans, motorhomes, boats, vehicles and other installations where conventional framed glass modules may not suit the available surface or weight.
Why eArc is different
Sunman replaces conventional module glass with proprietary lightweight composite materials. Exact weight, thickness, flexibility, electrical ratings and mounting limits vary by model.
eArc modules use crystalline-silicon cells with composite front materials instead of conventional module glass.
Compare exact dimensions and mass where roof loading, panel height or handling are important to the installation.
Surface support, permitted bend, adhesive method, cable exit and thermal requirements must follow the selected panel instructions.

Customer stories
A rotating five-star selection from around 150 Google reviews for Solar 4 RVs equipment, advice and ongoing support.
Absolutely stellar service from Cameron at Solar 4 RVs. Initially had him quote up a solar system for my campervan back in June 2024 and then when I was ready to purchase in November 2024 he was able to give me the best prices for every product and so I went ahead with the order.
Also gave me some tips to commission the system once I installed the products. Stoked on the Victron gear. Thanks guys!
Purchased a 12v/15a battery charger in 2023. Had issues with it today (2025). Called their info number and explained. Instantly agreed to accept it as a warranty issue and dispatched a replacement without any problems. Extremely quick service and item dispatched express courier that same day. Outstanding customer service. Thank you.
Purchased a literal boat load of electronics from them for our vessel. It all works great and they did an amazing job setting up the panel. We have had the gear a few years now and still reach out when we need help. Great customer service!

Read guideAbout this range
eArc solar panels are the only lightweight solar panels approved for grid connect on buildings which means they have passed the same testing criteria as traditional solar panels.

Development of the new waterproof composite polymers and panel structure was accelerated by funding of $3.3M from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to achieve the same durability as conventional solar panels.
eArc panels have been installed on the world’s first solar powered train in Byron Bay and 812 (235kW) panels have been installed onto the Sydney Maritime Museum’s Heritage Building which could not support heavy glass framed solar panels. To date more than 1MW of eArche capacity has been installed in Australia
eArc has obtained a series of other certifications for reliability, including:

A robust, lightweight, flexible solar panel that is perfect for caravans, motorhomes, boats, golf carts, trains, buses and other applications.

Edging options:

No edge on the 2mm panel provides a thin, low profile installation with good flexibility.

The lightweight black anodized aluminium alloy frame option provides support without thickness (some flex but not bendable).

The Sunman eArc panels are used on major projects where reliability is critical and where the weight of rigid panels is not feasible such as the Byron Bay train.
Technical buying questions
These are selection principles. The current datasheet, installation manual, warranty and controller instructions for the exact products remain the authority.
Sunman uses crystalline-silicon solar cells with proprietary lightweight composite materials in place of the conventional front glass used by many rigid modules. Construction, surface layers, weight, thickness and ratings still vary by exact eArc model, so use its current datasheet.
No. A lightweight or flexible description does not permit unlimited bending. Check the exact panel minimum bend radius, permitted bending direction, support requirements and installation method. Do not crease, twist or force a panel to match a surface outside its instructions.
Only with a mounting method approved for the exact panel and surface. Confirm structural support, surface preparation, adhesive or mechanical attachment, thermal movement, drainage, cable routing, junction-box clearance and future removal. Follow both the panel and adhesive-system instructions.
No. Panel voltage is not the same as battery voltage. Use Voc, Vmp, Isc and Imp for the exact panel and proposed series or parallel array. Some compact Sunman models have atypical operating voltages and may require a particular controller or array arrangement.
The junction-box position changes the required cable route, mounting clearance, roof penetration and access. An underside box needs a suitable recess or clearance without loading the box or cable, while a top box remains visible and must be positioned and protected according to the panel instructions.
Do not assume a lightweight panel is walkable. Concentrated foot pressure, sharp objects and unsupported areas can damage cells or laminates. Keep panels out of traffic paths unless the exact product and completed supported installation explicitly allow the expected load.
Calculate the complete array Voc, Vmp, Isc, Imp and power, including cold-temperature voltage and the chosen series or parallel layout. Keep those values within the controller limits and match its battery output, charge current and profile to the battery. Check every relevant datasheet and manual.
