DESCRIPTION
Victron Inverting Remote On-Off Cable: Intelligent Control for Your Off-Grid Power System
Seamless Integration Between MPPT Charge Controllers and Victron Inverters
The Victron Inverting Remote On-Off Cable provides a streamlined solution for managing your Victron inverter directly through the load output of a Victron MPPT charge controller. This cable enables automated inverter control based on battery voltage or user-defined parameters, reducing unnecessary power consumption and extending system autonomy. Designed for professional installers and system integrators, it ensures reliable signal transmission in 12V, 24V, and 48V setups, with a maximum DC voltage rating of 70V.
By using the load output terminals on your MPPT, you can program the inverter to switch off when the battery reaches a low-voltage threshold, protecting your battery bank from deep discharge. This is particularly valuable in off-grid solar systems, marine installations, and mobile applications where energy management is critical.
How the Inverting Remote On-Off Cable Works
Unlike a standard non-inverting remote on-off cable, this inverting version reverses the logic signal. When the MPPT load output is active (high), the cable pulls the inverter's remote on-off terminal low, turning the inverter off. Conversely, when the load output is inactive (low), the inverter is allowed to run. This inverted logic is essential for certain control strategies, such as using the MPPT's streetlight function or load disconnect thresholds to manage inverter operation.
The cable features an inline electronic module that performs the signal inversion, with colour-coded red and black wires for straightforward installation. Blue insulated crimp pin terminals ensure secure connections to the inverter's remote on-off port, while the input side connects to the MPPT load output. The module is compact and robust, suitable for mounting inside electrical enclosures.
Key Features
- Enables automated on/off control of Victron inverters via MPPT load output
- Inverting logic for compatibility with specific control algorithms
- Supports 12V, 24V, and 48V systems with a 70V maximum input/output rating
- Low power consumption: pull-down current approximately 30mA, short-circuit proof
- Colour-coded wiring and pre-crimped terminals for quick, error-free installation
- Compact inline module fits easily into existing system enclosures
Protect Your Battery Bank and Reduce Standby Losses
In off-grid and mobile power systems, inverters can draw significant standby current even when no AC loads are active. By integrating this cable, you can program the MPPT to disconnect the inverter during periods of low battery voltage or when no power is needed, preserving stored energy for essential loads. This reduces the risk of deep discharge, which can permanently damage lead-acid and lithium batteries alike.
The inverting remote on-off cable is particularly effective when paired with Victron MPPT models that feature a programmable load output, such as the SmartSolar series. It allows for customisable control logic, including time-based switching or voltage-based disconnect, giving you precise management over your energy system.
Professional-Grade Construction for Reliable Operation
Built to Victron's exacting standards, this cable uses high-quality materials to ensure long-term reliability in demanding environments. The inline module is potted to resist moisture and vibration, while the wire gauge is selected for minimal voltage drop over typical installation distances. The pin terminals are compatible with standard Victron inverter remote on-off connectors, eliminating the need for additional adapters.
Installation is straightforward: connect the red and black wires to the MPPT load output (polarity must be observed), and insert the pin terminals into the inverter's remote on-off port. No additional power supply is required, as the cable derives its operating voltage from the MPPT load output. A minimum input voltage of approximately 6V is needed for the pull-down function to activate.

WARRANTY
Victron Energy Limited Warranty Policy
Direct Customers
Victron Energy provides the following warranty to any direct customer (OEM, distributor or dealer) in relation to any products that Victron Energy has directly sold to the direct customer. This warranty is not an end-user warranty between Victron Energy and an end-user, and end-users shall not have any rights or remedies under this limited warranty towards Victron Energy directly. The direct customer shall, in turn, ensure that the end-user is provided with a warranty identical to this warranty, subject to applicable local mandatory law.
End-Users
Victron Energy may also provide a warranty directly to end-users, in which case the below warranty conditions equally apply to such warranty. In that case, end-users shall claim their warranty at their place of purchase or through the original direct customer of Victron, which can be found through the support section on Victron’s website https://www.victronenergy.com/support. Hence, the direct customer shall on behalf of Victron Energy deal with any warranty claims made under any warranty that Victron Energy may provide directly to end-users. This support section on Victron’s website https://www.victronenergy.com/support will provide further guidance on the procedure for end-users to make a claim under this limited warranty.
If the end-user is a consumer – a natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside that person's trade, business, craft or profession – the following applies. The rights and remedies granted to the consumer under this limited warranty are without prejudice to the consumer’s statutory rights. Furthermore, the consumer is entitled by law to remedies from the seller free of charge in the event of a lack of conformity of the goods (such as repair, replacement, price reduction or rescission), which remedies are not affected by this limited warranty.
