DESCRIPTION
Victron 24V 250VA Sun Inverter with Integrated 10A PWM Solar Charge Controller
Compact Off-Grid Power Solution for 24V Systems
The Victron 24V 250VA Sun Inverter combines a pure sine wave inverter and a 10A PWM solar charge controller in a single, space-saving unit. Designed for small-scale off-grid and mobile applications, it delivers reliable 230V AC power from a 24V battery bank while simultaneously managing solar charging. This integrated design simplifies installation and reduces wiring complexity, making it an excellent choice for cabins, workshops, service vehicles, and remote monitoring stations.
With 250VA continuous output and a 400W peak power capability, the inverter handles resistive loads and moderate start-up surges from tools, LED drivers, and small motors. The built-in PWM solar charger supports up to 500W of solar input, keeping batteries topped up during daylight hours. Together, they form a self-contained energy hub that reduces reliance on generators and grid power.
Proven Toroidal Transformer Design
At the core of the inverter is a full bridge with toroidal transformer topology, a design refined over decades of field use. This architecture provides inherent short-circuit protection and robust overload tolerance. It also contributes to the unit's 88% peak efficiency and stable voltage regulation, even under fluctuating DC input conditions. The steel chassis and fan-assisted cooling allow operation in ambient temperatures from -40°C to +60°C, with automatic power derating above 40°C to protect internal components.
Smart Energy Management with ECO Mode
To conserve battery power, the inverter features an adjustable ECO mode. When enabled, the unit enters a low-power standby state if the AC load drops below a preset threshold (minimum 15W). It then pulses on briefly at a configurable interval (default 2.5 seconds) to check for load demand. If a load above the threshold is detected, the inverter resumes normal operation. This reduces zero-load consumption from 5.2W to as low as 1.3W, extending battery runtime in intermittent-use scenarios like weekend cabins or seasonal equipment.
Integrated 10A PWM Solar Charger
The onboard PWM charge controller accepts up to 50V open-circuit voltage and 10A short-circuit current from your solar array. It is compatible with 72-cell panels or two 36-cell panels in series. The charge algorithm is fully programmable via the VictronConnect app, allowing you to tailor absorption and float voltages to your specific battery chemistry. Temperature compensation and a low-temperature cut-off safeguard battery health in extreme climates.
Wireless Monitoring and Configuration
Built-in Bluetooth and a VE.Direct communication port provide flexible options for system oversight. Use the free VictronConnect app on your smartphone or tablet to:
- View real-time inverter load, input/output voltage, and solar yield
- Adjust low-battery cut-off, restart, and alarm thresholds
- Configure dynamic cut-off to prevent premature shutdown under heavy loads
- Set output voltage (210–245V) and frequency (50/60Hz)
- Monitor operational state and fault codes
For remote monitoring, connect the VE.Direct port to a Victron GX device or GlobalLink 520. This enables data logging and alerts via the VRM portal, ideal for unattended installations.
