Simarine Data Extension Cable 8m

DESCRIPTION

Expand Your Simarine Pico Monitoring System with Reliable Data Connectivity

Establish secure, uninterrupted communication between your battery monitoring modules and displays. The 8-metre data extension cable is purpose-built to integrate flawlessly with your existing Simarine Pico ecosystem. Whether outfitting a marine vessel, touring caravan, or a comprehensive off-grid power setup, this cable provides the required length to position your monitor exactly where you need it without sacrificing signal integrity.

Essential for Marine and Caravan Electrical Networks

In complex mobile power systems, the distance between battery banks, current shunts, and control panels often exceeds the length of standard included cables. This genuine extension lead bridges that gap. By using a factory-approved component, you reduce the risks associated with generic data cables, such as data packet loss, intermittent display dropouts, or poor connections resulting from constant movement. It delivers excellent peace of mind when navigating rough waters or traversing corrugated outback tracks, keeping your critical power data flowing seamlessly.

Seamless Plug-and-Play Installation

Featuring high-quality clear plastic modular RJ-style connectors, this extension lead is designed for immediate, hassle-free installation. The secure clipping mechanism locks firmly into your shunts and display screens, preventing accidental disconnections in high-vibration environments. The highly durable, flexible black outer jacket allows for neat routing through tight boat bulkheads, conduit, cable trays, and behind caravan cabinetry. This flexibility makes professional-looking DIY installations highly achievable for any 12V, 24V, or 48V system setup.

Key System Benefits

  • 8-metre total length: Provides ample reach for custom mounting locations in large recreational vehicles and watercraft.
  • Secure modular connectors: Precision RJ-style plugs ensure a firm, vibration-resistant connection at both the monitor and the shunt.
  • Flexible black outer casing: Easy to route through complex electrical pathways while blending cleanly into dark enclosures.
  • Authentic accessory: Factory-tested to maintain strict data integrity across the entire monitoring network.
  • Plug-and-play setup: Requires no specialized crimping tools, soldering, or complex wiring to integrate.

Why Choose Factory-Engineered Components?

Precision battery monitoring relies on high-speed digital communication between the measuring nodes and the main screen. Utilizing a genuine component engineered specifically for the network ensures the internal wiring resistance and shielding match the system's strict architectural requirements. This preserves the pinpoint accuracy of your state-of-charge readings, temperature data, and fluid level measurements. Substandard wiring can introduce noise and voltage drops, but this dedicated extension mitigates those variables so your system operates exactly as intended.

Versatile Applications Across Mobile Setups

This cable is highly versatile and fits perfectly into any system demanding robust data transmission over extended distances. It is an ideal addition for marine refits where the main battery bank sits deep within the engine room while the display panel sits elevated at the helm station. Similarly, caravan builders can mount heavy shunts near the chassis-mounted batteries while running this single data line up to a convenient overhead locker or central control fascia.

Upgrade your system layout today. Order this 8-metre data extension to position your power monitoring display exactly where it is most convenient for your daily use.

Installer Responsibilities and System Design

SIMARINE products are commonly installed, connected, programmed, configured or integrated into a broader electrical system, vehicle, vessel, caravan, motorhome, camper, canopy, switch panel, battery system or monitoring network. Once installed, the product may form only one component of a larger system.

We do not provide installation services unless expressly stated in writing, and we do not supervise or control installation practices carried out by dealers, installers, contractors or end-users. The installer, system designer, integrator, dealer or end-user is responsible for ensuring that the product is suitable for the intended application and is installed correctly.

Issues or damage arising from incorrect installation, poor system design, incorrect configuration, incompatible equipment, inadequate protection, unsuitable mounting, unsuitable environmental conditions or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions are not product defects and are not covered by this warranty.

Appropriate Installation

All SIMARINE products must be installed in accordance with the product manual, the manufacturer's installation instructions, applicable Australian Standards, relevant electrical, automotive, marine or industry standards, and recognised industry best practice.

The installer must ensure that the product is used in an appropriate environment and within its specified ratings. Improper, unsafe, unlicensed, sub-standard or non-compliant installation may void or limit warranty coverage.

System Compatibility

The installer or integrator is responsible for selecting and using compatible components. This includes ensuring compatibility with batteries, shunts, tank senders, chargers, inverters, solar controllers, digital switching equipment, NMEA 2000 networks, wiring, fuses, circuit breakers, sensors, displays, software, firmware and any other connected equipment.

Damage, incorrect readings, communication faults, underperformance or failure caused by incompatible, incorrectly configured, undersized, oversized, unsuitable or improperly installed equipment is not covered by this warranty.

System-Wide Performance

Overall system performance depends on design, installation, configuration, calibration, usage, maintenance and environmental factors beyond the SIMARINE product itself. This warranty covers the quality of the individual SIMARINE product supplied by us only. It does not guarantee the performance of the broader electrical, monitoring or switching system into which the product is installed or integrated.

Issues such as inaccurate readings, incorrect tank levels, incorrect battery state of charge, communication errors, nuisance alarms, intermittent operation, voltage drop, overheating, instability, switching faults or operational shortfalls caused by system design, installation, calibration or configuration are outside the scope of this warranty.

Installation Location and Environmental Suitability

The installer must ensure that SIMARINE products are mounted, located, supported, ventilated and protected in a manner suitable for the installation environment.

Where relevant, the installer must allow for heat dissipation, ventilation, moisture exposure, dust, vibration, corrosion risk, electrical clearance, mechanical loading, access for inspection and service, and protection from unsuitable environmental conditions.

Damage caused by unsuitable mounting, inadequate ventilation, moisture, water ingress, dust, corrosion, excessive heat, vibration, insufficient clearance, unsuitable substrate selection or other installation environment issues is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered by this warranty.

System Protection and Fault Isolation

The installer must incorporate suitable protective devices and design measures appropriate to the product and installation type. This may include correctly rated fuses, circuit breakers, isolators, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, low-voltage protection, surge protection, correct cable sizing and other protective devices required by standards or best practice.

The installer is responsible for ensuring that a fault or failure in one component does not cause cascading damage to other components. Damage to SIMARINE products caused by inadequate system protection, poor fault isolation, incorrect protection settings or missing safety devices is not covered by this warranty.

Service Accessibility Requirement

Products must be installed in a manner that allows reasonable access for inspection, testing, servicing, removal and replacement. We are not responsible for additional labour, structural modification, access equipment, removal of fixtures, cabinetry, panels, flooring, trim, sealants, adhesives or other costs arising from installation methods that restrict reasonable access to the product.

Installation Documentation

We may require documentation of the installation when assessing a warranty claim. This may include photos of the product in its installed location, wiring diagrams, system layout, serial numbers, details of connected equipment, installer details, commissioning records, configuration settings, calibration details, service history, fault logs and maintenance records.

Failure to provide reasonable installation evidence may limit our ability to assess the claim.

Independence of Dealers and Installers

Dealers, resellers, installers and contractors act independently and are not agents, employees or representatives of SIMARINE or us unless expressly agreed in writing. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, workmanship, advice, representations, installation practices or system design decisions of independent dealers, resellers, installers, contractors or third parties.

Manufacturer, Importer or Distributor Support

SIMARINE products may be assessed, repaired or replaced through the manufacturer, importer, distributor or another nominated service process. Where available, we may assist customers in arranging assessment, but any manufacturer, importer or distributor service is subject to their own process, requirements and continued availability.

Australian Consumer Law

This warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies available at law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
