Blue Sea 230VAC 16A Main 11-Position 8A AC Distribution Panel
Blue Sea 230VAC 16A Main 11-Position 8A AC Distribution Panel
Pre-Wired Buses, Analog Volt/Amp Meters & Reverse Polarity LED

DESCRIPTION
Centralised 230V AC Power Management with Integrated Metering
Managing high-voltage alternating current in mobile, marine, and off-grid environments demands uncompromising safety and clear system visibility. The Blue Sea Systems 8176B AC Distribution Panel provides a centralised, professional-grade hub for managing incoming 230VAC power from shore power connections, onboard generators, or large inverter systems. Engineered with a double-pole 16A main circuit breaker and eleven individual 8A branch circuit breakers, this panel ensures reliable overcurrent protection and intuitive control over your essential AC appliances.
Unlike standard electrical enclosures that require complex manual bridging, this unit arrives with pre-wired hot, neutral, and safety-ground buses. This factory-tested configuration significantly reduces installation time, minimises the risk of wiring errors behind the dash, and ensures neat, compliant cable management in tight spaces.
Real-Time Analog Monitoring and Circuit Diagnostics
When operating off-grid or plugged into unfamiliar shore power pedestals, keeping track of your electrical load and line quality is vital to prevent tripped mains or appliance damage. This AC distribution panel incorporates dedicated analog AC Volt and AC Ampere meters directly into the fascia. Users can instantly verify that incoming line voltage is within safe operating parameters and monitor real-time current draw across the system before engaging additional heavy loads like air conditioners, water heaters, or battery chargers.
For low-light cabins and helm stations, the panel features backlit circuit label positions and green ON-indicating LEDs across every branch position, offering immediate visual confirmation of active circuits. Additionally, a dedicated red reverse-polarity warning LED alerts operators to unsafe wiring conditions at the power source before equipment can be compromised.
Key Features and Benefits
- Pre-Wired Bus Architecture: Fully installed hot, neutral, and safety-ground buses streamline installation and ensure secure, low-resistance connections.
- Integrated Analog Metering: Built-in AC voltmeter and ammeter provide continuous, at-a-glance diagnostics of system voltage and total load current.
- Comprehensive Circuit Protection: Combines a double-pole 16A main breaker for total isolation with eleven 8A single-pole branch breakers for dedicated appliance circuits.
- Reverse Polarity Protection: Red warning indicator immediately highlights reversed hot and neutral lines from faulty shore power connections.
- Illuminated Status Indication: Green LEDs on all circuit positions and backlit labels allow for effortless operation in dark marine cabins or RV interiors.
Engineered for Harsh Marine and Off-Grid Environments
Standard domestic switchboards are rarely suited to the constant vibration, moisture, and spatial constraints of vessels and recreational vehicles. Blue Sea Systems designs their AC distribution panels specifically to mitigate the risks of corrosion and loose terminations in mobile applications. By consolidating circuit protection, load monitoring, and polarity testing into a single, robust assembly, installers can achieve a clean, professional finish that enhances both electrical safety and user confidence.
Ideal Applications
- Marine Vessels: Yachts, cruisers, and commercial workboats requiring safe 230VAC shore power and generator management.
- Recreational Vehicles: Large caravans, motorhomes, and fifth-wheelers running multiple 230VAC appliances via high-output inverters.
- Specialist Vehicles: Mobile command centres, broadcast vans, and off-grid tiny homes needing reliable AC circuit separation and load tracking.
