DESCRIPTION
Century 12V 70Ah Gel Deep Cycle Battery: Premium Gel Deep Cycle Technology for Demanding Applications
The Century 12V 70Ah Gel Deep Cycle Battery is engineered to deliver reliable, long-lasting energy storage for a wide range of demanding applications. Built with Century’s industry-leading Gel electrolyte technology, this battery suspends the electrolyte in a thick, immobilised gel state. This advanced internal structure not only eliminates the risk of leaks and spills but also provides exceptional protection against plate damage caused by vibration and deep discharge cycles.
Designed to withstand the rigours of the Australian climate, this deep cycle battery outperforms traditional lead-acid equivalents in cycle life and reliability. It is the ideal power solution for mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, marine vessels, and recreational vehicles (RVs) where consistent power delivery and safety are non-negotiable.
Superior Deep Cycle Performance and Longevity
Unlike standard car batteries designed for short bursts of power, the Century 12V 70Ah Gel Deep Cycle Battery is constructed with heavy-duty lead-calcium grids and high-density active material. This design allows the battery to withstand repeated deep discharge and recharge cycles without significant degradation. The gel formulation prevents acid stratification—a common killer of flooded batteries—ensuring consistent performance throughout the battery's lifespan.
Whether you require steady power for a trolling motor or reliable energy for medical mobility equipment, this battery offers superior deep discharge recovery. With a maximum discharge current of 750A (5 seconds), this battery handles high surge loads with ease.
Maintenance-Free and Vibration Resistant
One of the standout features of the Century 12V 70Ah Gel Deep Cycle Battery is its completely maintenance-free operation. The valve-regulated, sealed design means there is no need to check fluid levels or top up with water, making it perfect for installation in hard-to-access areas. Furthermore, the immobilised gel acts as a shock absorber for the internal plates, offering excellent vibration resistance. This makes it particularly suitable for mobile applications like camper trailers and boats where travel over rough terrain or choppy water is common.
Storage and Efficiency
Efficiency is key in off-grid and backup systems. This battery features a low internal resistance and a self-discharge rate of less than 3% per month at 25°C, allowing it to sit in storage for extended periods with minimal power loss. However, to maintain optimal health, it is recommended to charge the battery at least once every six months if stored inactive.
Important Installation Advice
While the Century 12V 70Ah Gel Deep Cycle Battery is built tough, it is designed for deep cycle applications rather than engine starting in high-heat environments. Fuel, oil, and extreme under-bonnet temperatures can damage the casing and internal components. Therefore, installation under the bonnet of a vehicle is not recommended and will void the manufacturer's warranty. It is best suited for dedicated battery boxes, cabins, or external compartments away from direct engine heat.
Key Features
