DESCRIPTION
Direct-to-Battery 4-Circuit Power Distribution for 12V and 24V Systems
Adding electrical accessories to a vehicle, caravan, or marine vessel often leads to a cluttered mess of inline fuse holders and stacked ring terminals on the battery post. The Blue Sea Systems ST Blade Battery Terminal Mount Fuse Block Kit solves this common wiring challenge by providing a clean, consolidated, and secure power distribution point directly at the energy source.
Engineered to mount straight onto the battery terminal stud, this kit allows you to easily add four independent fused circuits alongside a dedicated four-circuit negative busbar. Rated up to 32V DC, it is ideal for both 12V and 24V electrical setups, delivering up to 100A across the block and 30A per individual circuit. Whether you are wiring bilge pumps and fish finders in a boat, or setting up auxiliary lighting, UHF radios, and fridges in a 4WD, this terminal-mounted block streamlines your installation and protects your critical electronics.
Engineered for Marine and Automotive Safety
When working directly off a battery terminal, electrical safety and corrosion resistance are paramount. Unlike uncertified distribution blocks that can expose live connections or corrode in damp environments, this Blue Sea Systems kit is built to stringent international marine and automotive standards. The busbars are manufactured from high-conductivity C11000 tin-plated copper, providing exceptional power transfer while resisting corrosion in harsh coastal and marine conditions.
Furthermore, the kit is fully Ignition Protected (meeting ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 standards), making it safe for installation within petrol engine compartments and enclosed battery boxes. The included snap-on insulating covers meet ABYC and USCG insulation requirements, vastly reducing the risk of accidental short circuits caused by dropped tools or shifting gear.
Key Features and Benefits
- Consolidated Circuit Protection: Adds 4 ATO/ATC blade fuse circuits directly to the positive battery post, paired with a separate 4-circuit negative busbar for clean ground returns.
- Direct Terminal Mounting: Features a 3/8" (Approx. M10) mounting hole designed to fit directly onto standard battery terminal studs without requiring additional mounting space or complex brackets.
- Certified Ignition Protection: Meets ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 requirements, allowing safe operation in environments where flammable gases may be present, such as marine engine bays.
- Marine-Grade Construction: Tin-plated copper C11000 bus material ensures minimal voltage drop and long-term durability in high-moisture and salt-air environments.
- Complete Installation Kit: Supplied with four 16-14 AWG (Approx. 1.5-2.5mm²) and four 12-10 AWG (Approx. 4-6mm²) nylon-insulated ring terminals to fit the #8-32 (Approx. M4) screw terminals, plus write-on circuit labels for easy identification.
- Protective Insulating Covers: Satisfies ABYC/USCG insulation standards to shield live terminals from accidental contact.
Ideal Applications
Because it eliminates the need to run a heavy primary feed wire to a remote fuse panel for just a few accessories, this battery terminal fuse block is a versatile solution for compact spaces:
- Marine Vessels: Safely wire automatic bilge pumps, navigation electronics, stereo memory wires, and VHF radios directly to the house or starter battery.
- 4WDs and Commercial Vehicles: Neatly connect under-bonnet accessories like driving light relays, air compressors, and brake controllers without stacking lugs on the battery post.
- Caravans and Camper Trailers: Create a compact, reliable distribution point inside tight battery compartments for water pumps, 12V sockets, and diesel heaters.
Note: Standard ATO or ATC blade fuses are required for operation and are sold separately, allowing you to customise the exact amperage protection needed for each individual appliance.
