Blue Sea SPST (ON)-OFF WeatherDeck® Toggle Switch
Blue Sea SPST (ON)-OFF WeatherDeck® Toggle Switch
Momentary Action, Non-Corrosive Brass & IP67 Capable (Boot Required)

DESCRIPTION
Reliable Momentary Control for Marine and Off-Grid Electrical Panels
Engineered specifically by Carling Technologies for Blue Sea Systems, this Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) momentary toggle switch delivers dependable manual circuit control in demanding environments. Featuring an (ON)-OFF switching configuration, where the parentheses indicate a momentary contact position, this component is ideal for applications requiring temporary activation, such as marine horns, windlasses, bilge pump overrides, or starter circuits.
Standard electrical switches often fail prematurely when exposed to moisture, salt spray, and vibration. By utilising a purpose-built marine component, system builders and marine electricians can significantly reduce the risk of corrosion-induced voltage drop, intermittent electrical faults, and mechanical seizing.
Engineered for Harsh Environments
Constructed from heavy-duty nickel-plated brass and high-grade phenolic materials, the switch body and toggle lever offer exceptional resistance to corrosion. This specialized material selection ensures structural integrity and smooth mechanical operation over extended periods in coastal, marine, and off-road automotive applications.
When integrated into a Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck® panel and fitted with a compatible WeatherDeck® Toggle Switch Boot, this unit achieves an IP67 ingress protection rating. This rating certifies that the switch mechanism is protected against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water for up to 30 minutes, making it highly suitable for open-cockpit boats, flybridges, and external 4WD control boxes.
Key Features and Technical Benefits
- Momentary (ON)-OFF Action: Spring-loaded return to the OFF position provides precise manual control for temporary load activation.
- Carling Technologies Manufacturing: Built to rigorous electromechanical standards for consistent tactile feedback and long service life.
- Non-Corrosive Construction: Nickel-plated brass hardware and phenolic housing prevent oxidation and material degradation in salt-laden air.
- IP67 Weatherproof Capability: Rated for temporary submersion when properly installed with the corresponding sealing boot.
- Streamlined Installation: Equipped with quick-connect male spade terminals for efficient wiring and both knurled and hexagonal mounting nuts for secure panel retention.
Installation and Compatibility Considerations
This switch is designed as a direct fit or replacement component for Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck® waterproof panels, though its threaded neck and mounting hardware allow for versatile custom panel installations. The rear spade terminals accept standard female quick-connect crimp terminals for straightforward integration into 12V or 24V DC electrical harnesses.
Please note: To achieve the stated IP67 ingress protection rating, this switch must be mounted in conjunction with a WeatherDeck® Toggle Switch Boot. Boot inclusion is not specified with this unit and may need to be sourced separately if replacing an existing damaged boot.
