Blue Sea SPST (ON)-OFF-(ON) WeatherDeck Toggle Switch
Blue Sea SPST (ON)-OFF-(ON) WeatherDeck Toggle Switch
Carling Technologies Momentary Marine Switch - Nickel-Plated Brass

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty Momentary Control for Marine Electrical Systems
Engineered specifically for harsh marine and off-grid environments, this three-position toggle switch provides dependable momentary control for critical onboard accessories. Manufactured by Carling Technologies for seamless integration with Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck panels, it delivers the mechanical precision required for demanding electrical installations. In brackets, the (ON)-OFF-(ON) configuration indicates a dual momentary action, meaning the actuator springs back to the central off position when released. This makes it an ideal solution for applications requiring temporary engagement, such as trim tabs, windlasses, bilge pump overrides, or intermittent horn and wiper controls.
Engineered for Harsh Marine Environments
Standard switches often fail prematurely in coastal and marine settings due to salt spray, high humidity, and constant vibration. To mitigate the risk of electrical failure and voltage drop caused by oxidation, this component features a specialized nickel-plated brass and phenolic construction. These non-corrosive materials ensure long-term structural integrity and consistent conductivity over repeated actuation cycles, outperforming standard automotive-grade alternatives when exposed to the elements.
For installations exposed to heavy weather, washdowns, or open cockpits, the switch achieves an IP67 ingress protection rating (protected against temporary immersion for up to 30 minutes) when paired with a compatible WeatherDeck Toggle Switch Boot. Please note that the protective boot is required to achieve the IP67 rating and must be sourced separately if not already present on your existing panel.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual Momentary Operation: Three-position (ON)-OFF-(ON) single-pole single-throw (SPST) action returns automatically to the centre off position, preventing accidental continuous operation of pumps or motors.
- Marine-Grade Materials: Non-corrosive nickel-plated brass actuator and durable phenolic body resist degradation from salt mist, moisture, and UV exposure.
- Purpose-Built Compatibility: Manufactured by Carling Technologies specifically to fit and function within Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck waterproof panels.
- Streamlined Installation: Equipped with standard quick-connect spade terminals and a threaded mounting bushing with hex and knurled face nuts for secure panel retention.
- Conditional IP67 Protection: Capable of withstanding temporary water immersion up to 30 minutes when installed with the mandatory WeatherDeck Toggle Switch Boot.
Reliable Integration and Installation
Replacing a faulty switch or configuring a custom control panel requires components that install cleanly and maintain a secure connection under vibration. The rear of the switch housing is fitted with standard quick-connect spade terminals, allowing for straightforward wiring with marine-gradeinsulated crimp connectors. The threaded neck includes both a backing hex nut and a knurled face nut, ensuring the switch sits flush and remains tightly fastened within the panel cutout.
Whether you are performing maintenance on an existing WeatherDeck distribution system or designing a custom helm layout for a trailer boat, yacht, or 4WD camper, selecting the correct switching architecture is essential for system safety. Upgrade your vessel's control panel with this Carling Technologies momentary toggle switch to ensure crisp, reliable actuation whenever you are on the water.
