Blue Sea SPST (ON)-OFF-ON toggle switch with nickel-plated brass lever and threaded mounting neck

Blue Sea SPST (ON)-OFF-ON Toggle Switch for WeatherDeck® Panels

DESCRIPTION

Heavy-Duty Marine Grade Toggle Switch for Exposed Dash and Helm Applications

Engineered specifically for harsh marine and off-grid environments, the Blue Sea Systems SPST (ON)-OFF-ON Toggle Switch provides dependable circuit control when integrated into compatible WeatherDeck® Waterproof Panels. Manufactured by industry leader Carling Technologies for Blue Sea Systems, this switch is built to withstand the constant moisture, salt spray, and vibration typical of open-cockpit boats, flybridges, and rugged 4WD setups.

Standard automotive switches often fail prematurely in marine environments due to internal corrosion and contact degradation. By utilising a non-corrosive nickel-plated brass and phenolic construction, this component reduces the risk of electrical failure when you are miles offshore or off the beaten track. Whether you are replacing a damaged switch in an existing panel or customising a circuit layout for specific deck equipment, this genuine component ensures seamless mechanical and electrical compatibility.

Versatile (ON)-OFF-ON Circuit Control

Featuring a Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) configuration with an (ON)-OFF-ON action, this switch offers both momentary and maintained control from a single mounting point. In switch terminology, brackets denote a momentary position that springs back to the centre off position when released, while the standard ON position remains engaged until manually switched off.

This specific switching logic is ideal for marine and mobile applications requiring dual-mode operation on a single circuit, such as:

  • Windscreen Wipers: Use the maintained ON position for continuous wiping in heavy rain, and the momentary (ON) position for a quick single sweep to clear salt spray.
  • Bilge Pumps: Operate in manual override mode or momentary test mode depending on your wiring setup.
  • Signalling and Horn Systems: Provide momentary bursts for marine horns or deck alert lights alongside continuous operation modes.
  • Livewell and Bait Tank Pumps: Easily toggle between continuous circulation and momentary priming.

Engineered for IP67 Waterproof Protection

To achieve its full environmental sealing capability, this switch is designed to pair with a WeatherDeck® Toggle Switch Boot. When properly mounted in a panel with the corresponding boot installed, the assembly achieves an IP67 rating, protecting the internal contacts against dust ingress and temporary immersion in water for up to 30 minutes. Please note: The IP67 rating strictly depends on using the specified WeatherDeck® Toggle Switch Boot, and the supplied product information does not confirm that the boot is included with this replacement switch.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Genuine Carling Technologies Manufacturing: Custom built for Blue Sea Systems to ensure precise fitment and long-term mechanical reliability in WeatherDeck® Panels.
  • Non-Corrosive Materials: Constructed from marine-grade nickel-plated brass and phenolic housing to resist rust and corrosion in high-moisture environments.
  • SPST (ON)-OFF-ON Action: Combines momentary and maintained switching in a compact footprint with a tactile nickel-plated brass lever.
  • Installation Ready: Features a threaded mounting neck with a hex nut for secure panel retention and male quick-connect spade terminals for fast, reliable wiring terminations.
  • IP67 Rated Capability: Capable of withstanding temporary immersion for 30 minutes when sealed with an appropriate WeatherDeck® boot.

Maintain the Integrity of Your Marine Electrical System

Compromising on switch quality in exposed areas can lead to voltage drop, short circuits, and inoperable safety gear. Upgrade or repair your helm's electrical control panel with the genuine Blue Sea Systems SPST (ON)-OFF-ON Toggle Switch for reliable operation in demanding Australian conditions.
