Blue Sea SPST ON-OFF-ON toggle switch with nickel-plated brass construction and spade terminals

Blue Sea SPST ON-OFF-ON Toggle Switch for Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck® Panels

DESCRIPTION

Heavy-Duty Marine Circuit Control for WeatherDeck® Switch Panels

Engineered for demanding marine and off-road electrical systems, this Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) ON-OFF-ON toggle switch delivers reliable three-position circuit management. Specially manufactured by Carling Technologies for seamless integration into Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck® panels, it provides a direct replacement or customisation option for builders upgrading their power distribution setups. Whether you are configuring dual-intensity lighting, managing independent bilge pump modes (such as manual, off, and automatic), or controlling auxiliary navigation accessories, this switch ensures precise tactile feedback and dependable operation.

Engineered by Carling Technologies for Harsh Environments

Standard automotive switches frequently fail when exposed to high humidity, salt spray, and constant vibration, leading to voltage drop, intermittent connectivity, or complete circuit failure. To mitigate these risks, this Blue Sea Systems toggle switch features a non-corrosive nickel-plated brass and phenolic construction. The phenolic housing offers high dielectric strength and exceptional resistance to heat and moisture absorption, while the nickel-plated brass actuator and mounting hardware resist oxidation in coastal and marine environments.

For straightforward installation and maintenance, the switch body is equipped with male quick-connect spade terminals for secure electrical wiring, alongside a threaded neck with a hex nut and knurled collar for solid panel mounting.

Key Features and Benefits

  • SPST ON-OFF-ON Configuration: Three-position metal toggle actuator allows versatile control over two separate loads from a single common power source, with a positive centre-off position.
  • Marine-Grade Construction: Built from non-corrosive nickel-plated brass and durable phenolic materials to withstand salt mist, moisture, and mechanical wear.
  • OEM Precision: Specially manufactured by Carling Technologies to match the exact tolerances and mechanical specifications of Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck® panels.
  • IP67 Ingress Protection Ready: Achieves an IP67 environmental seal capable of withstanding temporary water immersion for up to 30 minutes when paired with the appropriate boot.
  • Secure Connectivity: Integrated male spade terminals facilitate rapid, reliable wiring using standard insulated female disconnect terminals.

Important Installation and IP67 Rating Note

To achieve the stated IP67 rating for protection against dust and temporary immersion (up to 30 minutes), this toggle switch must be mounted in conjunction with a genuine Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck® Toggle Switch Boot. Please note that the protective boot is required to seal the actuator opening and is not included with the bare switch.

Applications in Marine and Off-Grid Electrical Systems

The ON-OFF-ON switching logic is an essential component in complex 12V and 24V DC electrical architectures. Common applications include:

  • Navigation and Anchor Lights: Switching seamlessly between running lights (ON), all lights extinguished (OFF), and anchor light only (ON).
  • Bilge and Water Systems: Selecting between manual override operation, system off, and automatic float switch control.
  • Cabin and Deck Lighting: Controlling dual-colour LED fixtures (such as red night-vision lighting and white task lighting) from a single panel position.
  • Camper and 4WD Canopies: Managing dual-speed fans, auxiliary transfer pumps, or multi-zone exterior work lights in dust-prone off-road environments.
