Blue Sea Dual Battery Bank Management Panel with 2 m-Series ON-OFF Battery Switches
Blue Sea Dual Battery Bank Management Panel with 2 m-Series ON-OFF Battery Switches
Isolates Engine & House Circuits - 100A Breaker & Emergency Parallel

DESCRIPTION
Independent Engine and House Circuit Control for Marine Power Systems
Managing multiple power sources aboard a vessel requires dependable isolation and intuitive control. The Blue Sea Systems 8080B Dual Battery Bank Management Panel is an integrated distribution solution engineered to streamline marine electrical systems. Featuring two heavy-duty m-Series ON-OFF battery switches and a dedicated 100A C-Series circuit breaker, this panel provides complete separation between your engine starting circuit and your house loads. By isolating these circuits, you eliminate the risk of accidentally discharging your starting battery while running cabin accessories, refrigeration, or navigation equipment at anchor.
Safeguard Sensitive Marine Electronics
One of the most common electrical issues on boats is voltage drop and transient spikes caused by high-current engine cranking. When electronics share a circuit with the starter motor, turning the key can cause GPS chartplotters, sonar units, and VHF radios to reset or suffer internal damage. This management panel solves that problem by keeping the house battery bank entirely independent from the engine circuit during normal operation. The integrated 100A house circuit breaker provides robust overcurrent protection for your main DC distribution feed while doubling as a convenient master disconnect switch for your cabin loads.
Emergency Cross-Connect Capability
While circuit isolation is vital for daily operation, emergencies require flexibility. If your dedicated engine battery becomes depleted or fails offshore, this panel features a built-in emergency cross-connect function. By engaging the manual parallel override, you can temporarily combine the house and engine battery banks, drawing on the reserve capacity of your house bank to crank the engine and get back to port safely. Unlike standard unlabelled switch clusters that can be confusing during high-stress situations, this pre-configured panel offers clear, logical operation.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual Circuit Isolation: Independently manages engine and house battery banks to prevent flat starting batteries.
- Integrated Overcurrent Protection: Includes a 100A C-Series flat rocker circuit breaker to protect the main house DC feed.
- High-Output Switching: Equipped with two m-Series rotary switches rated to handle demanding 300A continuous engine loads.
- Emergency Parallel Override: Allows instant manual cross-connection of isolated battery banks for emergency engine starting.
- Electronics Protection: Isolates sensitive navigation and communication gear from harmful voltage sags and spikes during engine cranking.
- Ignition Protected: Meets strict ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 marine standards, making it safe for installation in the engine rooms of petrol-powered boats.
- ACR Compatible: Ready to pair with an optional Automatic Charging Relay (sold separately) to automate the charging of both battery banks from a single alternator.
Engineered for Harsh Marine Environments
Constructed with marine-grade components, the BS-8080B panel reduces installation time and wiring complexity compared to sourcing and mounting individual switches and breakers. Its ignition-protected design ensures it will not ignite flammable vapours, reducing fire risks aboard petrol vessels. Please note that while this panel is designed to integrate seamlessly with an Automatic Charging Relay (ACR) for automated dual-bank charging, the ACR is an optional component and is not included with the panel.
Upgrade Your Vessel's Electrical Reliability
Take the guesswork out of marine power management and protect your critical onboard electronics. Add the Blue Sea Dual Battery Bank Management Panel to your marine electrical setup today for safe, organised, and dependable control on the water.
