Blue Sea Double-Pole Double-Throw (DPDT) Contura Three-Position Switch, (ON)-OFF-ON, Grey
Blue Sea Double-Pole Double-Throw (DPDT) Contura Three-Position Switch, (ON)-OFF-ON, Grey
UL1500 Ignition Protected - Salt Spray, Moisture & Vibration Resistant

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty Marine Panel Control with Ignition Protection
Engineered for demanding marine and off-grid electrical environments, the Blue Sea Systems Contura Switch provides dependable circuit control when conditions get rough. Featuring a Double-Pole Double-Throw (DPDT) configuration with an (ON)-OFF-ON action, this switch offers a momentary ON position, a central OFF state, and a maintained ON position. Note that in standard electrical terminology, parentheses indicate a momentary action, returning to the central off position when released. This specific three-position layout is ideal for complex switching tasks, such as combining windlass controls, trim tabs, or dual-circuit bilge pump operations where both manual override and continuous automated circuits are managed from a single actuator.
Engineered for Harsh Marine and Off-Road Environments
Standard automotive switches often fail prematurely when exposed to coastal environments due to internal corrosion and mechanical fatigue. This Contura rocker switch is purpose-built to eliminate those failure points. It undergoes rigorous testing to withstand extreme vibration, physical shock, and thermoshock (rapid temperature fluctuations). Furthermore, its internal components are sealed against moisture and corrosive salt spray, reducing the risk of short circuits and voltage drop over time.
Designed specifically for seamless integration into Blue Sea Systems water-resistant panels, the switch includes an integrated rubber mounting gasket. This ensures a tight, weatherproof seal at the panel face, protecting your behind-the-dash wiring and busbars from water ingress during washdowns or heavy seas.
Certified Ignition Protection for Maximum Safety
When installing electrical components in enclosed spaces or aboard petrol-powered vessels, preventing stray sparks is critical. This switch is fully ignition protected, meeting stringent UL1500 and ISO8846 safety standards. The enclosed housing ensures that any internal arcing during switching cannot ignite surrounding flammable vapours, making it safe for installation in engine bays, fuel tank compartments, and battery boxes.
Key Features & Benefits
- Versatile (ON)-OFF-ON Action: Combines momentary and maintained switching in a single DPDT unit for multi-function control across two separate circuits.
