Red Blue Sea Contura SPDT rocker switch with ON-OFF-ON positions and battery management symbols

Blue Sea Contura SPDT ON-OFF-ON Switch

DESCRIPTION

Heavy-Duty 3-Way Circuit Control for Marine and Off-Grid Electrical Systems

Engineered for Harsh Environments and Reliable Battery Management

The Blue Sea Contura SPDT ON-OFF-ON Switch delivers dependable, three-position circuit control for demanding marine, automotive, and off-grid applications. Designed with a Single-Pole Double-Throw (SPDT) configuration, this rocker switch features a clearly defined centre-off position flanked by two active ON positions. Featuring a distinct matte red actuator marked with intuitive battery parallel and isolation symbols, it serves as an ideal dash-mounted remote control for automatic charging relays (ACRs), dual battery systems, and specialised auxiliary loads.

Standard switches often fail prematurely when exposed to the constant mechanical stress and corrosive elements of marine and off-road travel. This Blue Sea Systems Contura switch is specifically built to mitigate the risks of electrical failure, contact corrosion, and accidental circuit engagement in high-vibration dashboards and open helm stations.

Built to Withstand Extreme Conditions

Whether mounted on an exposed boat console or inside a touring 4WD cabin, electrical components must endure rapid temperature changes and constant physical impact. The Contura series is rigorously tested to resist environmental degradation, ensuring long-term operational integrity where lesser switches corrode or seize.

  • Single-Pole Double-Throw (SPDT) Configuration: Effortlessly switch a single input between two distinct outputs, or manage multi-state relays with a reliable ON-OFF-ON sequence.
  • Intuitive Battery Management Actuator: The red rocker face features clear laser-etched icons for parallel battery operation (upper position) and isolated battery circuits (lower position).
  • Environmental Sealing: Built to resist moisture and salt spray, reducing the risk of internal short circuits in coastal and marine environments.
  • Mechanical Durability: Engineered to withstand continuous vibration and physical shock from rough seas or corrugated outback tracks.
  • Thermoshock Resistant: Maintains structural and electrical integrity across rapid ambient temperature fluctuations.
  • Standardised Connectivity: Rear blade terminals allow for straightforward integration into standard marine and automotive wiring harnesses.

Versatile Applications Across Marine and Mobile Setups

The positive tactile feedback of the Contura rocker ensures operators can confirm switch states by feel alone, an essential safety benefit when navigating at night or in rough conditions. Its robust construction makes it suitable for a wide variety of custom switch panels and OEM replacements:

  • Remote override control for Blue Sea Systems ML-Series Automatic Charging Relays (ACRs) and battery switches
  • Managing dual battery states (Combine, Off, Isolate) directly from the helm or driver's seat
  • Controlling two-speed equipment such as windscreen wipers, bilge blowers, or ventilation fans
  • Switching between dual navigation light configurations (e.g. Anchor Lights vs Running Lights)
  • Selecting between primary and auxiliary fuel tank gauges or transfer pumps

Upgrade Your Control Panel with Confidence

Ensure your critical electrical circuits remain operational when you need them most. Integrate the Blue Sea Contura SPDT ON-OFF-ON Switch into your vessel or vehicle dashboard for professional-grade circuit management built for Australian conditions.
