Blue Sea Contura 3 3-Position Single-Pole Double-Throw Panel Mount Switch, Black
Blue Sea Contura 3 3-Position Single-Pole Double-Throw Panel Mount Switch, Black
(ON)-OFF-ON Action - Resistant to Moisture, Salt Spray & Vibration

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty (ON)-OFF-ON Rocker Switch for Marine and Off-Grid Electrical Panels
The Blue Sea Systems Contura 3 is a professional-grade SPDT (Single-Pole Double-Throw) rocker switch engineered to provide reliable, three-position circuit control in demanding environments. Featuring an (ON)-OFF-ON switching configuration, this unit provides both momentary and maintained circuit activation separated by a central off position. It is an ideal component for custom 12V and 24V electrical dashboards in marine vessels, 4WDs, caravans, and commercial service vehicles.
Engineered for Harsh Environments
Standard automotive switches often fail prematurely when exposed to constant coastal air, heavy corrugations, or washdowns. The Contura 3 series mitigates the risk of electrical failure, contact corrosion, and water ingress through specialised environmental engineering. Constructed with a high-impact nylon housing and an integrated sealing gasket, this water-resistant rocker switch is rigorously tested to withstand extreme vibration, physical shock, thermoshock, moisture, and salt spray.
The ergonomic black actuator features a textured surface, ensuring positive tactile feedback and slip-resistant operation even when wearing gloves or operating a vessel in wet weather. Rear blade terminals allow for straightforward installation using standard quick-connect spade connectors, simplifying wiring harness integration and maintenance.
Key Features and Benefits
- (ON)-OFF-ON Action: Combines a momentary ON position (spring-return to centre) with a maintained ON position, separated by a central OFF state for versatile dual-function control.
- Marine-Grade Durability: Built to resist moisture, salt spray, and thermoshock, making it highly reliable for open-cockpit boats and exposed off-road dashboards.
- Vibration and Shock Resistant: Maintains secure electrical contact across rough seas and corrugated Australian outback tracks without accidental tripping.
- Seamless Panel Integration: Designed specifically to snap into Blue Sea Systems Contura Water Resistant Panels and Contura Switch Mounting Panels.
- Ergonomic Contura 3 Actuator: Textured black rocker face provides clear physical orientation and dependable grip in wet conditions.
- Standard Blade Terminals: Rear spade connections support quick, secure wiring termination.
Versatile Switching Applications
Because the (ON)-OFF-ON configuration offers both temporary and continuous circuit closure from a single pole, it reduces dashboard clutter by combining two operational modes into one footprint. Common applications include:
- Windscreen Wipers: Use the maintained ON position for continuous wiping and the momentary (ON) position for a quick single sweep or washer pump activation.
- Bilge Pumps: Switch between continuous manual override (ON), system OFF, and momentary testing (ON).
- Lighting and Signalling: Control continuous work lights in one direction and momentary horn, strobe, or flasher circuits in the other.
Upgrade Your Control Panel
Ensure dependable circuit switching across your vessel or vehicle electrical system. Add the Blue Sea Contura 3 SPDT Switch to your build for durable, marine-grade control.
