Blue Sea Contura 2 DPST On-Off Switch, Black
Blue Sea Contura 2 DPST On-Off Switch, Black
Salt Spray & Vibration Resistant Marine Rocker with Red Status Lens

DESCRIPTION
Reliable Double Pole Single Throw Control for Harsh Marine and Automotive Environments
The Blue Sea Contura 2 DPST On-Off Switch is engineered to provide dependable, simultaneous circuit control in demanding marine, 4WD, and off-grid electrical systems. Featuring a Double Pole Single Throw (DPST) configuration, this rocker switch allows you to control two separate circuits with a single actuation, or isolate both the positive and negative lines of a single load. Constructed specifically to endure the rigours of open-water vessels and off-road touring, it offers exceptional longevity where standard switches often fail due to environmental exposure.
Engineered for Extreme Conditions
Electrical components in boats, caravans, and utility vehicles are constantly subjected to harsh elements. This Contura II series switch is rigorously tested to resist vibration, physical shock, thermoshock, moisture, and corrosive salt spray. A protective weather-resistant gasket ensures a secure seal when mounted, significantly reducing the risk of moisture ingress behind your dash or control panel. While built for high moisture and salt spray resistance, please note that this unit is designed for water-resistant panel applications and is not rated for complete submersion.
Ergonomic Design and Visual Status Indication
Operating switches in rough seas or over corrugated tracks requires tactile certainty. The Contura 2 rocker face features a specialised dimpled surface that provides a secure, non-slip grip even when your hands are wet or gloved. For immediate system monitoring, the switch incorporates an integrated red lens that illuminates to provide a clear visual status indication when the circuit is active, preventing accidental battery drain from forgotten loads.
Key Features and Benefits
- DPST OFF-ON Configuration: Simultaneously switches two independent circuits or isolates both active and neutral conductors for enhanced safety.
- Marine-Grade Durability: Built to withstand continuous vibration, shock, extreme temperature fluctuations (thermoshock), moisture, and salt spray.
- Tactile Contura II Rocker: Black dimpled actuator surface ensures positive grip and effortless operation in wet or turbulent conditions.
- Integrated Red Illumination: Built-in red lens delivers clear, at-a-glance confirmation when connected equipment is powered on.
- Seamless Panel Integration: Designed to snap directly into Blue Sea Systems Contura Water Resistant Panels and Contura Switch Mounting Panels.
- Quick-Connect Termination: Equipped with standard blade terminals to streamline installation and maintenance in custom wiring harnesses.
Why Upgrade to Blue Sea Systems?
Inferior switches frequently suffer from internal contact corrosion, actuator failure from UV exposure, or loose terminals caused by constant vehicle or hull vibration. By utilising genuine Blue Sea Systems components, you mitigate the risk of electrical shorts, intermittent power loss, and premature component failure. The robust housing and precision internal mechanisms ensure crisp, reliable actuation over thousands of cycles, making it the preferred choice for marine electricians and custom 12V/24V system builders across Australia.
Ideal Applications
Whether you are refitting a centre console helm, building a custom 4WD canopy power distribution board, or upgrading a caravan control panel, this switch offers professional-grade performance. Use it to link navigation lights and anchor lights, control dual bilge pump circuits, or manage auxiliary lighting setups with confidence.
Upgrade Your Control Panel Today
Ensure your electrical system remains safe and responsive in the toughest conditions. Select the Blue Sea Contura 2 DPST On-Off Switch for your compatible mounting panel and build a marine or off-road switchboard you can rely on.
