Blue Sea 12-position circuit breaker block with clear insulating cover and yellow mounting clips

Blue Sea Circuit Breaker Block - 12 Independent

DESCRIPTION

Organised Multi-Circuit Protection with Snap-In CLB Breaker Mounting

Managing multiple electrical circuits in demanding marine, caravan, or off-grid environments requires a structured, secure approach to circuit protection. The Blue Sea Systems 5051B 12-Position Independent Circuit Breaker Block provides a consolidated mounting solution designed specifically for CLB Series push-to-reset thermal circuit breakers. Rather than mounting individual breakers separately and cluttering your electrical panel, this distribution block organises up to 12 completely isolated circuits within a single, compact footprint.

Unlike bus-type fuse blocks that share a common positive feed, each of the 12 positions in this block is electrically independent. This allows system builders and marine electricians to protect circuits originating from different power sources, switches, or voltage systems within one unified housing. Whether you are wiring a dual-battery setup in a 4WD, managing switched and unswitched loads on a vessel, or building a custom control panel for a camper trailer, independent terminal pairs give you complete routing flexibility.

Engineered for Marine-Grade Reliability and Fast Installation

Standard automotive fuse holders often struggle in high-vibration or moisture-prone environments, leading to voltage drop, corroded contacts, or loose connections. Blue Sea Systems addresses these risks by constructing the terminal interfaces and internal busses from tin-plated copper. This material selection ensures high electrical conductivity while resisting the galvanic corrosion commonly encountered in coastal and marine applications. Furthermore, the screw terminals are specifically designed to accept captive ring terminals, significantly reducing the risk of wires vibrating loose over corrugated tracks or rough seas.

Installation efficiency is built directly into the housing design. Integrated quick-connect clips allow compatible CLB resettable circuit breakers to simply snap into place without requiring individual mounting nuts for initial retention. Once wired, the unit is protected by a clear polycarbonate insulating cover that satisfies strict ABYC and USCG insulation requirements, preventing accidental short circuits from stray tools or conductive hardware inside the electrical cabinet.

  • 12 Independent Circuit Positions: Electrically isolated input and output terminals per circuit allow protection for varied power sources and switched loads in one block.
  • Snap-In CLB Breaker Retention: Internal quick-connect clips let compatible Blue Sea CLB Series resettable circuit breakers click securely into the housing.
  • Tin-Plated Copper Conductors: Corrosion-resistant busses and screw terminals deliver reliable current transfer and accept secure ring terminal connections.
  • ABYC/USCG Compliant Cover: Clear clip-on insulating cover features yellow tool-less latches, two-direction wire breakouts, and square-format label recesses for fast circuit identification.
  • Customisable Weather Protection: Threaded breaker stems protrude through the cover, allowing the installation of optional push-button waterproof boots or dress nuts.

Streamlined Cable Routing and System Maintenance

A clean wiring loom is essential for long-term system reliability and safe fault-finding. The Blue Sea 5051B features side breakouts that permit neat wire entry and exit from two directions, accommodating clean parallel cable runs along your mounting board. The robust yellow easy-open clips secure the cover firmly in place while allowing tool-less removal when you need to inspect terminals or expand your system.

Please note that CLB resettable circuit breakers, square circuit labels, dress nuts, and waterproof push-button boots are not included with the block and must be selected separately to match the specific amperage requirements of your appliances.

Upgrade Your Electrical Panel Layout

Build a safer, cleaner, and more serviceable electrical distribution system for your vessel, caravan, or custom vehicle canopy. Add the Blue Sea 12-Position Independent Circuit Breaker Block to your setup today and pair it with the appropriate CLB Series breakers for dependable, resettable circuit protection.
