Blue Sea 80A C-Series Single-Pole Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker
Blue Sea 80A C-Series Single-Pole Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker
Trip-Free Overcurrent Protection for Inverters, Windlasses & Thrusters

DESCRIPTION
Combined High-Current Switching and Overcurrent Protection
The Blue Sea C-Series 80A Single-Pole Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker (BS-7548B) delivers dependable overcurrent protection and manual on-off switching within a single, compact unit. Engineered specifically for high-demand marine, RV, and off-grid electrical architectures, this 80A circuit breaker eliminates the requirement for separate isolation switches and fuse holders. By consolidating these functions, it simplifies switchboard layouts and reduces the number of termination points in your system, which directly lowers the risk of voltage drop and loose connections across heavy-duty circuits.
Ergonomic Flush-Mount Rocker Design
In mobile environments such as boat cabins, 4WD canopies, and caravans, switches mounted in high-traffic areas are vulnerable to being knocked by passing gear or personnel. The C-Series flat rocker actuator is contoured to sitcompletely flush with the mounting bezel when in the ON position. This low-profile mechanical design significantly mitigates the risk of accidental circuit interruption or unintended activation. For rapid visual diagnostics on dark distribution panels, the colour actuator clearly indicates when the breaker is in the OFF or tripped state, allowing operators to assess system status at a glance.
Uncompromising Trip-Free Safety
When protecting high-draw equipment, thermal and magnetic fault response must be absolute. This unit incorporates a specialised trip-free internal mechanism, meaning the electrical contacts cannot be manually held closed while an overcurrent fault condition persists. Even if the external rocker actuator is physically forced or obstructed into the ON position during a short circuit or heavy overload, the internal mechanism will disconnect the load independently. This critical engineering feature protects your cabling from thermal runaway, insulation melting, and potential electrical fires.
Key Features and System Benefits
- Dual-Function Architecture: Combines heavy-duty 80A circuit protection and manual circuit isolation in one panel-mounted device.
- Flush ON-Position Actuator: Prevents accidental switching in tight quarters and high-traffic marine or off-grid installations.
- Visual Status Indication: Colour-coded rocker slot clearly displays the OFF position for immediate troubleshooting.
- Trip-Free Internal Mechanism: Ensures the circuit will trip and remain open during an overload, even if the actuator is held in the ON position.
- Heavy-Duty Termination: Paralleled poles feature a robust 5/16-inch (approx. 7.9mm or M8) bus stud to accommodate heavy-gauge ring terminals and secure power transfer.
- Integrated Mounting Inserts: Equipped with threaded brass inserts for straightforward, secure panel installation.
Engineered for Demanding Applications
Unlike standard residential or entry-level automotive breakers that can suffer from nuisance tripping or contact degradation under high inductive loads, the Blue Sea C-Series is built for severe duty cycles. It is ideally suited for protecting and isolating high-amperage appliances, including:
- 12V, 24V, and 48V DC power inverters
- Marine bow thrusters and anchor windlasses
- Auxiliary battery bank charging circuits and DC-DC chargers
- High-output hydraulic pumps and winches
Upgrade Your Electrical Distribution
Secure your high-amperage circuits against overload damage while streamlining your control panel. Add the Blue Sea 80A C-Series Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker to your system build for professional-grade switching and circuit protection.
