Blue Sea 80A C-Series AC Double-Pole Raised Rocker Circuit Breaker
Blue Sea 80A C-Series AC Double-Pole Raised Rocker Circuit Breaker
ABYC Compliant Simultaneous Live & Neutral Switching with Rear Studs

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty 80A AC Overcurrent Protection and Dual-Line Switching
The Blue Sea C-Series 80A AC Double-Pole Raised Rocker Circuit Breaker (SKU: BS-7583B) provides dependable overcurrent protection and manual switching for demanding alternating current systems. Designed for marine, off-grid, and mobile electrical panels, this unit combines two essential functions into one compact footprint: high-amperage circuit protection and clear, manual circuit isolation. By integrating switching and protection into a single component, it simplifies panel layout and reduces the number of failure points in your electrical system.
Simultaneous Double-Pole Safety for AC Systems
In marine and mobile AC installations, such as shore power inlets, high-output inverters, and onboard generators, isolating only the active line is often insufficient for complete safety. A potential risk in mobile and marine power grids is reverse polarity, where active and neutral lines are inadvertently swapped at the power source. This double-pole circuit breaker addresses this hazard by simultaneously switching and protecting both the active (live) and neutral conductors. If an overcurrent event occurs on either pole, the internal mechanism trips both poles simultaneously, completely isolating the downstream circuit and protecting both equipment and personnel.
Engineered for Harsh Environments and Reliable Connectivity
Standard domestic breakers are rarely suited to the continuous vibration, moisture, and thermal cycling found in marine vessels, caravans, and industrial vehicles. The Blue Sea C-Series is built to meet stringent ABYC compliance standards for marine electrical safety. It features heavy-duty, rear-facing threaded stud terminals with nuts, allowing for secure, low-resistance connections using heavy-gauge ring terminals. Unlike push-in or clamp-style terminals that can loosen over time due to road shock or hull vibration, threaded studs maintain clamping force to help prevent hot spots and voltage drop under heavy 80A loads.
- Dual-Function Design: Combines an 80A AC circuit breaker and a manual ON/OFF switch into a single panel-mounted device.
- Double-Pole Isolation: Simultaneously disconnects both live and neutral AC lines, providing essential safety for shore power, generator, and inverter main circuits.
- Tactile Raised Rocker: High-visibility black rocker actuator offers clear visual status indication and positive manual operation.
- Secure Rear Stud Terminals: Heavy-duty threaded studs and nuts accommodate large-gauge cabling required for 80A current loads, resisting vibration-induced loosening.
- Robust Panel Mounting: Integrated brass threaded inserts allow for secure front-panel screw mounting without stripping or flexing.
- ABYC Compliant: Engineered to meet strict marine safety standards for reliable performance in demanding environments.
Ideal Applications
With its 80A continuous rating and dual-pole architecture, the BS-7583B is typically utilised as a main AC circuit breaker rather than a branch breaker for small appliances. Common applications include:
- Marine Shore Power & Generators: Acting as the primary AC main breaker on boats and yachts to safely manage incoming shore power or high-capacity marine generators.
- Off-Grid & Mobile Inverter Systems: Protecting the AC output of large inverter/chargers in commercial vehicles, large RVs, and off-grid cabins.
- Heavy-Duty AC Sub-Panels: Serving as a master disconnect and overcurrent device for specialised high-draw AC distribution boards.
Upgrade Your AC Panel Protection
Ensure your high-amperage AC distribution system is protected against overloads and reverse polarity hazards. Integrate the Blue Sea C-Series 80A Double-Pole Circuit Breaker into your electrical panel for professional-grade switching and safety.
