Blue Sea 600A ANL Fuse
Blue Sea 600A ANL Fuse
Silver-Plated Slotted Terminals & Clear Blown-Fuse Inspection Window

DESCRIPTION
High-Amperage DC Circuit Protection for Demanding Electrical Systems
Safeguarding high-current DC systems requires dependable overcurrent protection that will not degrade under heavy electrical loads. This 600A ANL fuse is engineered to protect main battery banks, large inverters, bow thrusters, and windlasses from catastrophic short circuits and sustained overloads. Designed to integrate seamlessly into standard ANL fuse blocks, it provides a critical line of defence for complex marine, recreational vehicle, and off-grid solar installations.
Engineered for Harsh Marine and Mobile Environments
Electrical components in marine and off-grid applications are frequently exposed to moisture, salt air, and constant vibration. Unplated or poorly constructed fuses can quickly oxidise, leading to increased contact resistance, voltage drop, and dangerous heat build-up at the terminal stud. To mitigate these risks, this fuse features silver-plated connector blades that offer superior conductivity and exceptional resistance to corrosion. This ensures a clean, low-resistance electrical path over the service life of the component, even in coastal and damp environments.
The body is constructed from a durable, reinforced composite material designed to withstand high ambient temperatures and mechanical vibration without cracking or fatiguing. This robust housing keeps the internal fusible link secure during rough sea crossings or corrugated off-road travel.
Key Features and Benefits
- Silver-Plated Connector Blades: Maximises conductivity and resists corrosion in damp, humid, or salt-air environments, reducing the risk of thermal runaway caused by high-resistance connections.
- Slotted Fork Terminals: The open-ended terminal design allows the fuse to be slid into place or removed by simply loosening the mounting nuts, eliminating the need to completely disassemble the fuse block hardware during maintenance.
- Transparent Inspection Window: Provides immediate, clear visual verification of a blown fuse element, speeding up fault diagnosis in dimly lit battery compartments or electrical lockers.
- Reinforced Composite Housing: Delivers high resistance to heat and mechanical vibration, maintaining structural integrity under heavy electrical loads and mobile conditions.
- Industry-Standard ANL Footprint: Compatible with Blue Sea Systems ANL fuse blocks and other standard high-amperage ANL holders, making it an easy drop-in replacement or system upgrade.
Streamlined Installation and Diagnostics
When a high-current circuit trips, diagnosing the issue quickly and safely is essential. The integrated central inspection window provides a clear view of the internal link, giving an unmistakable visual indication when the fuse has blown. Once the underlying fault is resolved, the slotted fork terminals make replacement straightforward. Technicians and system owners can swap the fuse without fully removing the terminal locknuts and washers, significantly reducing the risk of dropping small hardware into bilges or tight battery enclosures.
Applications in 12V, 24V, and 48V Systems
A 600A rating is typically specified for the primary trunk lines of substantial DC power setups. It is well-suited for protecting the main positive cable feeding heavy-duty inverter/chargers, large DC distribution busbars, or high-draw marine propulsion equipment. By matching this fuse to appropriately sized heavy-gauge battery cabling and a compatible ANL fuse block, installers can ensure their high-capacity lithium or AGM battery banks remain protected against severe electrical faults.
