Blue Sea 50A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Red
Blue Sea 50A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Red
Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation & Trip-Free Safety for Electrical Panels

DESCRIPTION
Integrated Magnetic-Hydraulic Circuit Protection and Switching
The Blue Sea A-Series 50A Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker is engineered to simplify electrical panel design by combining manual circuit switching and overcurrent protection into a single, reliable unit. Designed for demanding marine, RV, caravan, and off-grid power systems, this 50A circuit breaker eliminates the need to wire separate switches and fuse holders, reducing potential failure points and saving valuable panel space.
Featuring an ergonomic red toggle actuator clearly stamped with the 50A amperage rating and OFF position, this breaker provides immediate visual confirmation of circuit status. The vibrant red lever is particularly suited for identifying critical loads, primary power feeds, or emergency equipment on crowded distribution panels.
Precision Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation
Unlike standard thermal circuit breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, the Blue Sea Systems A-Series utilises a precision magnetic-hydraulic mechanism. In warm Australian climates, hot marine engine bays, or enclosed caravan battery compartments, ambient heat can cause thermal breakers to trip prematurely below their rated capacity. A magnetic-hydraulic breaker measures actual electrical current flow rather than temperature, ensuring the trip point remains stable and accurate across a wide range of operating temperatures.
This technology significantly reduces the risk of nuisance tripping when running heavy loads like air conditioners, watermakers, or large DC-DC chargers, while still delivering rapid, dependable interruption during a genuine short circuit or sustained overload.
Engineered for Safety and Compliance
Electrical safety in mobile and marine environments requires hardware that can handle fault conditions without user interference. This breaker incorporates a mechanical trip-free design, meaning the internal contacts will trip open during a fault-current event even if the toggle lever is physically held or wedged in the ON position. This critical feature protects wiring harnesses from thermal runaway and prevents damage to sensitive electronics.
- Dual-Function Design: Combines manual ON/OFF switching and 50A overcurrent protection in one compact enclosure.
- Magnetic-Hydraulic Mechanism: Provides temperature-stable trip performance, preventing nuisance trips in high-heat environments.
- Trip-Free Safety: Internal mechanism disconnects the circuit during a fault condition, even if the actuator is manually held ON.
- Secure Panel Mounting: Features integrated brass threaded mounting inserts for stable, vibration-resistant front-panel installation.
- High-Visibility Red Actuator: Allows quick identification of essential circuits and clear visual indication of the OFF state.
- Global Certifications: Meets ABYC standards, is UL 1077 recognised, TUV certified, CE marked, and CSA certified for international compliance.
Built for Marine, Caravan, and Off-Grid Panels
