Blue Sea 30A A-Series Double Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker White
Blue Sea 30A A-Series Double Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker White
Magnetic Hydraulic Switching & Trip-Free Protection with Ganged Handle

DESCRIPTION
Integrated Dual-Pole Switching and Overcurrent Protection
The Blue Sea A-Series 30A Double-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker combines precise electrical switching and reliable circuit protection into a single, compact panel-mount device. Engineered specifically for demanding marine, RV, caravan, and off-grid electrical systems, this breaker simplifies your distribution panel by eliminating the need for separate switches and fuses. Featuring an integrated white ganged toggle handle, it connects two poles internally so that a fault on either pole will simultaneously trip both, making it essential for main AC power feeds or dual-line DC isolation.
The Magnetic Hydraulic Advantage
Unlike standard thermal breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, this A-Series circuit breaker utilises advanced magnetic hydraulic technology. Standard thermal units often suffer from nuisance tripping when installed in hot engine rooms, enclosed battery boxes, or unventilated canopies. A magnetic hydraulic mechanism reacts strictly to actual current flow rather than ambient temperature fluctuations. This ensures consistent, predictable overcurrent protection and allows the breaker to carry its full 30A load continuously, regardless of the surrounding climate.
Fail-Safe Trip-Free Engineering
Safety is critical when managing high-energy electrical systems. This unit incorporates a trip-free design, meaning the internal contacts cannot be manually held in the closed (ON) position during an active fault current condition. Even if an operator attempts to hold the toggle actuator up while a short circuit or severe overload is present, the internal mechanism will override the handle and break the circuit. This significantly reduces the risk of wire insulation damage, equipment failure, and electrical fires compared to inferior circuit protection hardware.
Key Features & Benefits
- Simultaneous Double-Pole Disconnection: The ganged toggle actuator links both poles, ensuring complete isolation of both lines (such as AC active and neutral, or DC positive and negative) in the event of an overload on either circuit.
- Combined Control and Protection: Acts as both a heavy-duty ON/OFF switch and an overcurrent protector, saving valuable space on custom electrical switchboards.
- Temperature-Independent Operation: Magnetic hydraulic sensing prevents premature tripping in high-temperature environments and delays in freezing conditions.
- Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Internal contacts disengage automatically during a fault and cannot be forced to remain closed by holding the toggle switch.
- Secure Panel Mounting: Built with threaded brass mounting inserts on the faceplate to provide a rigid, vibration-resistant installation in mobile and marine applications.
- Clear Visual Identification: The crisp white toggle clearly displays the 30A current rating on the face for immediate circuit identification.
Ideal Applications
Double-pole circuit breakers are a vital component for electrical compliance and safety across a wide range of setups. In AC systems (such as shore power inlets or inverter outputs in boats and caravans), breaking both the active and neutral conductors simultaneously is a standard requirement to protect against reverse polarity hazards. In DC systems, it provides a convenient method to isolate both positive and negative lines simultaneously or to protect two related 30A circuits where one cannot safely operate without the other.
