Blue Sea 25A MD Push-Button Circuit Breaker
Blue Sea 25A MD Push-Button Circuit Breaker
Weatherproof & Ignition Protected with Trip-Free Reset & Lock Washers

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty Weatherproof and Ignition Protected 25A Circuit Protection
Engineered for demanding marine, automotive, and off-grid electrical systems, the Blue Sea Systems 25A Medium Duty (MD) Push-Button Circuit Breaker delivers dependable overcurrent protection where space and environmental resistance are critical. Whether you are outfitting a commercial vessel, upgrading a recreational boat, or building a custom 4WD canopy power distribution system, this 25A breaker provides robust protection for main, branch, or 24-hour circuits.
Unlike standard thermal switches that can degrade rapidly in damp or high-vibration environments, this unit is purpose-built with a weatherproof sealed housing. It prevents moisture ingress, salt spray corrosion, and dust contamination, ensuring consistent electrical continuity when exposed to harsh Australian elements.
Advanced Safety with Trip-Free and Ignition Protected Design
Electrical safety in enclosed compartments is paramount, particularly around fuel sources. This Blue Sea circuit breaker is fully ignition protected, making it safe for installation aboard petrol-powered boats and near fuel tanks or battery compartments where explosive gases or vapours may accumulate. It prevents internal sparks from igniting surrounding fumes, significantly reducing fire hazards compared to unsealed alternatives.
Furthermore, the unit incorporates a mechanical trip-free design. In the event of a sustained overload or direct short circuit, the internal mechanism trips immediately to protect downstream wiring and appliances. Crucially, the trip-free mechanism ensures the breaker cannot be manually held in the "ON" position while a fault current condition persists, eliminating the risk of user override causing wire meltdowns or equipment damage. Once the fault is cleared, power is restored via a simple push-to-reset button operation.
Engineered for High-Density Panels and Easy Installation
Space behind the helm or inside a distribution box is often limited. The compact footprint and integrated surface mounting flange of the MD series allow for high-density circuit protection configurations, enabling installers to group multiple breakers cleanly in tight enclosures.
To streamline installation in awkward or confined spaces, the terminal studs are equipped with captive star lock washers. These specialised washers are permanently attached to the terminal hardware, preventing you from dropping small components into the bilge or behind panelling during wiring. Once tightened, the star lock profile bites into the ring terminal to meet strict anti-rotation requirements, ensuring connections do not vibrate loose over corrugated roads or rough seas.
Key Features & Benefits
- Weatherproof Sealed Construction: Protects internal contacts against moisture, salt spray, and dirt in exposed marine or automotive applications.
- Ignition Protected Housing: Certified safe for installation in petrol engine compartments and enclosed battery boxes.
- Trip-Free Push-to-Reset Operation: Simple one-touch resetting that cannot be forced on during an active electrical fault.
- Captive Star Lock Washers: Eliminates the frustration of dropped hardware during installation while providing superior anti-rotation and vibration resistance.
- Compact High-Density Profile: Ideal for tight electrical panels serving main, branch, or continuous 24-hour loads like bilge pumps and security systems.
Ideal Applications
- Marine Vessels: Main feeds, branch circuits, windlass control, and 24-hour essential circuits (such as automatic bilge pumps and vessel monitoring) on both petrol and diesel boats.
- Caravans & Campers: Weather-resistant circuit protection for external distribution boxes, high-draw appliances, and battery management setups.
- 4WD & Commercial Vehicles: Reliable vibration-resistant protection for auxiliary canopies, winches, lighting rigs, and industrial equipment.
Upgrade your electrical distribution system with professional-grade protection. Add the Blue Sea 25A MD Push-Button Circuit Breaker to your setup today to ensure safe, compliant, and durable power management in any environment.
