Blue Sea 25A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - White
Blue Sea 25A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - White
Magnetic Hydraulic Switching & Protection - Trip-Free Design - ABYC/UL

DESCRIPTION
Reliable Magnetic Hydraulic Circuit Protection and Switching
The Blue Sea A-Series 25A Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker delivers industry-standard electrical protection and manual switching in a single, compact device. Designed specifically for integration into Blue Sea Systems electrical panels and custom distribution boards, this dual-function component eliminates the need for separate switches and fuses. Whether you are outfitting a marine vessel, a caravan, an RV, or a specialised off-grid power system, the A-Series provides dependable overcurrent protection for your critical 25A electrical loads.
The Magnetic Hydraulic Advantage
Unlike standard thermal circuit breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, this magnetic hydraulic circuit breaker operates using a solenoid coil and a damped hydraulic core. Because its tripping mechanism is driven by magnetic force rather than heat, it is unaffected by high ambient temperatures. In hot engine bays, enclosed marine electrical lockers, or sun-baked caravan canopies, thermal units often suffer from nuisance tripping at currents well below their rating. The Blue Sea A-Series maintains a consistent trip curve regardless of surrounding temperatures, ensuring your equipment operates reliably when you need it most.
Additionally, the internal hydraulic fluid dampens the core movement to provide a controlled time delay. This allows the breaker to tolerate harmless, momentary inrush currents from motors, pumps, or inductive loads without disconnecting, while still reacting instantaneously to dangerous short-circuit faults.
Engineered for Safety with Trip-Free Operation
Safety is paramount in high-energy DC and AC electrical systems. This 25A toggle circuit breaker incorporates a mechanical "trip-free" design. In the event of an electrical overload or direct short circuit, the internal contacts will disconnect even if the white toggle actuator is physically held or wedged in the ON position. This critical safety feature mitigates the risk of cable overheating, insulation damage, and electrical fires by preventing operators from manually overriding a fault condition.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual-Function Design: Combines heavy-duty manual circuit switching and precise overcurrent protection into one panel-mounted unit.
- Magnetic Hydraulic Mechanism: Provides temperature-stable performance without derating in hot marine or automotive environments.
- Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Internal contacts cannot be held closed during a fault-current event, protecting wiring and connected appliances.
- Robust Panel Installation: Features integrated brass threaded mounting inserts at the front and reliable rear-facing screw terminals for secure line and load connections.
- Clear Visual Indication: Ergonomic white toggle actuator clearly displays the 25A rating and provides distinct visual and tactile feedback for ON and OFF positions.
- Global Compliance: Meets rigorous international safety standards, including ABYC requirements, UL 1077 recognition, TUV certification, CE marking, and CSA certification.
Ideal Applications for Marine and Off-Grid Systems
The Blue Sea Systems A-Series is widely recognised as the benchmark for panel-mounted circuit protection in demanding environments. Its compact footprint and front-panel mounting hardware make it ideal for:
- Marine AC and DC main or branch distribution panels
- Caravan, camper trailer, and motorhome control boards
- 4WD dual-battery canopies and auxiliary power distribution
- Specialist industrial equipment and off-grid solar enclosures
