Blue Sea 25A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Red
Blue Sea 25A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Red
Magnetic-Hydraulic Panel Switch & Overcurrent Protection - Trip-Free

DESCRIPTION
Integrated Magnetic-Hydraulic Circuit Protection and Switching
The Blue Sea A-Series 25A Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker is an industry-standard solution designed for demanding marine, RV, and off-grid electrical panels. By combining manual switching and automatic overcurrent protection into a single compact unit, it eliminates the need for separate switches and fuse holders. This simplifies wiring layouts, reduces potential failure points, and saves valuable space on crowded distribution panels.
Featuring a high-visibility red toggle actuator with a contrasting 25A rating printed directly on the face, this single-pole breaker allows for quick visual identification of critical circuits. Whether used in 12V, 24V, or AC branch applications, it provides dependable circuit management where reliability is paramount.
Why Choose Magnetic-Hydraulic Technology?
Unlike standard thermal circuit breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, the Blue Sea A-Series utilises a precision magnetic-hydraulic mechanism. Standard thermal breakers can suffer from nuisance tripping when installed in hot engine bays, enclosed electrical cabinets, or harsh Australian summer conditions, as ambient heat lowers their trip threshold.
A magnetic-hydraulic breaker senses current flow via a magnetic coil rather than heat, meaning its 25A trip threshold remains stable across wide ambient temperature variations. It only trips when an actual electrical overload or short circuit occurs, ensuring continuous power delivery to essential equipment without unexpected shutdowns.
Engineered for Safety: Trip-Free Design
Safety in high-amperage DC and AC systems requires fail-safe hardware. This A-Series breaker incorporates a trip-free mechanism, which ensures the internal contacts cannot be manually held closed during a fault-current condition. Even if the red toggle handle is physically held in the ON position while a short circuit or overload is present, the internal mechanism will still trip and isolate the circuit. This critical safety feature reduces the risk of wire insulation damage, melted terminals, and electrical fires caused by overriding a fault.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual-Function Design: Combines heavy-duty circuit switching and precise 25A overcurrent protection in one panel-mount device.
- Temperature-Stable Operation: Magnetic-hydraulic trip mechanism is unaffected by high ambient temperatures, preventing nuisance tripping.
- Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Internal contacts disconnect during a fault even if the toggle actuator is held in the ON position.
- Secure Panel Mounting: Equipped with standardised top and bottom brass threaded inserts for straightforward, vibration-resistant vertical panel alignment.
- Clear Status Indication: High-contrast red toggle handle provides immediate visual confirmation of circuit status and amperage rating.
- Global Compliance: Meets stringent international safety and marine standards, including ABYC, UL 1077, TUV, CE, and CSA.
Applications in Marine, RV, and Off-Grid Systems
Designed to meet strict ABYC marine requirements, the Blue Sea 7217B is built to withstand corrosive environments and constant vibration. It is widely used as a replacement breaker in existing Blue Sea Systems distribution panels or for custom switchboard builds in boats, caravans, 4WD canopies, and specialist service vehicles. The red actuator makes it particularly well-suited for designating essential circuits, emergency equipment, or primary branch feeds that require immediate recognition.
