Blue Sea 25A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Black
Blue Sea 25A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Black
Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation & Trip-Free Safety with Brass Inserts

DESCRIPTION
Magnetic-Hydraulic Switching and Circuit Protection
The Blue Sea A-Series 25A Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker delivers dependable overcurrent protection and manual switching in a single, compact device. Designed for demanding marine, RV, caravan, and off-grid electrical panels, this breaker streamlines your switchboard layout by eliminating the need for separate switches and fuse holders. By combining both functions into one robust mechanism, it reduces wiring complexity, saves valuable panel space, and minimises potential failure points across your electrical system.
Why Magnetic-Hydraulic Technology Matters
Unlike standard thermal breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, the A-Series utilises advanced magnetic-hydraulic operation. Standard thermal protection devices can suffer from nuisance tripping in hot engine bays, sun-exposed canopies, or unventilated electrical cabinets because high ambient temperatures prematurely affect their trip threshold. A magnetic-hydraulic mechanism operates via a magnetic coil and a silicone fluid-damped core, meaning its 25A trip profile remains consistent and unaffected by ambient temperature fluctuations. It responds strictly to actual current flow, providing predictable circuit protection across diverse Australian climates.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual-Function Design: Combines heavy-duty manual switching and precise 25A overcurrent protection into one integrated panel-mount unit.
- Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation: Delivers consistent, temperature-stable trip performance without derating in high-heat environments.
- Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Engineered so the internal contacts cannot be held closed manually during an active fault-current condition, protecting wiring and connected appliances from thermal damage.
- Ergonomic Toggle Actuator: Features a tactile black toggle handle with high-contrast white OFF markings and a front-facing 25A label for immediate visual status confirmation.
- Secure Panel Mounting: Built with internal threaded brass inserts for straightforward, vibration-resistant installation into custom or pre-fabricated switch panels.
Engineered for Safety and Reliability
In high-vibration mobile applications such as 4WDs, camper trailers, and marine vessels, electrical safety is paramount. The integrated trip-free design is a critical risk-reduction feature. If a short circuit or severe overload occurs, the breaker will trip internally even if the toggle handle is physically held or jammed in the ON position. This prevents operators from accidentally overriding the safety mechanism before the underlying electrical fault is resolved, significantly reducing the risk of melted insulation or electrical fires.
Ideal Applications
With its clean black actuator and industry-standard footprint, this 25A circuit breaker integrates seamlessly into OEM and custom distribution panels. It is widely trusted by marine electricians and mobile power builders for:
- Main and branch circuit distribution panels in boats, yachts, and marine vessels
- 12V and 24V DC control panels in caravans, motorhomes, and camper trailers
- Auxiliary battery systems and canopy power setups in touring 4WDs and service vehicles
- Off-grid solar control boards and industrial equipment enclosures
