Blue Sea 240VAC 65A Rotary Source Switch, 2 Position
Blue Sea 240VAC 65A Rotary Source Switch, 2 Position
Heavy-Duty UL Listed Manual Transfer for Panels up to 4mm Thick

DESCRIPTION
Reliable Manual AC Power Source Selection for Marine and Off-Grid Systems
Managing multiple alternating current power inputs requires dependable, heavy-duty switching gear to prevent dangerous cross-connection and equipment damage. The Blue Sea Systems 9019B is an industrial-rated rotary AC source switch engineered to safely connect one of two separate 120V or 240VAC power sources to a single distribution circuit. Whether transitioning between shore power and an onboard generator, or managing dual inverter inputs in a mobile installation, this switch provides positive, mechanical isolation in a compact footprint.
Engineered for High-Demand Electrical Environments
Unlike standard commercial switches that may degrade under continuous high loads or vibration, this unit features a robust, heavy-duty industrial enclosure designed to withstand demanding marine and off-grid environments. Rated for a substantial 65A continuous current at 240VAC, it handles significant electrical loads with minimal contact resistance, reducing the risk of overheating at the terminal block during peak appliance usage.
The ergonomic rotary control knob is specifically designed for positive, one-hand operation. This ensures smooth transitions between power sources while providing clear tactile feedback as the internal contacts engage and disengage.
- Dual AC Source Management: Safely isolates and connects one of two distinct 120V/240VAC inputs (such as Shore Power and Generator) to a single load circuit.
- Heavy-Duty 65A Capacity: Industrial-grade internal contacts and screw terminals support high-amperage AC systems up to 65A at 240VAC.
- Ergonomic One-Hand Operation: High-visibility rotary actuator allows for effortless manual switching between sources.
- Streamlined Panel Mounting: Designed for clean integration into custom switchboards and electrical distribution panels up to 4.00mm (0.16in) thick.
- UL Listed Compliance: Tested and certified to meet strict safety and performance standards for peace of mind in critical electrical installations.
System Integration and Circuit Protection Requirements
This manual AC transfer switch is built for seamless rear-panel mounting, sitting flush with a clearly marked faceplate to give your main switchboard a professional, OEM-grade finish. It accommodates panel thicknesses up to 4.00mm (0.16in), making it suitable for both aluminium marine dashboards and composite electrical enclosures.
Important Installation Note: This rotary switch is a pure isolation and routing device and does not contain integrated overcurrent protection. It is strictly intended for installations where appropriate circuit protection (such as AC main circuit breakers or fuses) is provided elsewhere in the upstream system.
Ideal Applications
Because it physically separates incoming AC feeds, the Blue Sea 9019B eliminates the risk of back-feeding power into an inactive generator or shore power pedestal. It is widely specified by marine electricians and off-grid system designers for:
- Marine Vessels: Selecting between dockside shore power and an auxiliary marine generator.
- RVs and Fifth Wheelers: Managing power input between caravan park mains and a portable inverter generator.
- Off-Grid Cabins and Tiny Homes: Switching a primary AC sub-panel between an off-grid solar inverter and a backup diesel generator.
- Specialist Service Vehicles: Controlling 240VAC power distribution in mobile workshops, broadcast vans, and emergency response units.
