Blue Sea 230V AC rotary source selection panel with LED status indicators and 4-position switch

Blue Sea 240VAC 65A 8361 Rotary Switch Panel OFF + 3 Positions

DESCRIPTION

Heavy-Duty 230V/240V AC Source Selection for Marine and Off-Grid Systems

Managing multiple alternating current (AC) power inputs requires a dependable, fail-safe switching mechanism. The Blue Sea Systems AC Rotary Panel (Part 8361B) provides a safe, centralised method for selecting between up to three separate 230V/240V AC power sources to feed a single main circuit. Engineered specifically for demanding marine vessels, off-grid installations, and specialised recreational vehicles, this 3-pole rotary selector ensures complete electrical isolation between independent inputs such as dual shore power leads, onboard generators, and high-output inverters.

When working with high-amperage mains power, accidental cross-connection of AC sources can cause severe damage to sensitive electrical equipment and create hazardous conditions. By integrating a heavy-duty industrial-rated rotary switch with a dedicated OFF position, this panel mechanically prevents two sources from connecting to the load simultaneously, offering superior risk reduction compared to basic toggle switches or non-isolated distribution setups.

Key Features and System Benefits

  • 3-Source + OFF Switching: Easily transition between three independent 230V/240V AC inputs (such as Shore Power 1, Shore Power 2, and Generator) or completely disconnect all AC power from the vessel or vehicle electrical system.
  • 3-Pole Isolation: Simultaneously switches active, neutral, and earth/ground paths (where applicable to the system design) up to a maximum continuous rating of 65A, ensuring complete source separation.
  • Integrated LED Diagnostics: Features clear visual status indicators for each input, including green "Power Available" LEDs to confirm live incoming feeds and red "Reverse Polarity" warning LEDs to alert operators to unsafe wiring conditions before engaging the load.
  • Marine-Grade Construction: Built from heavy 1/8" (approx. 3.2mm) 5052 aluminium alloy with a durable two-part polyurethane slate grey finish to resist corrosion in harsh saltwater environments.
  • Compact, Dedicated Footprint: Designed as a streamlined source-selection module for installations where AC circuit protection (such as main circuit breakers and RCDs) is already provided elsewhere in the distribution system.

Enhanced Safety with Visual Polarity Monitoring

Connecting to unfamiliar shore power pedestals at marinas or caravan parks carries the inherent risk of incorrectly wired mains supply. Reversed active and neutral conductors can energise components unexpectedly and compromise safety devices. This Blue Sea AC Rotary Panel actively mitigates this risk by monitoring incoming lines prior to switching. The bright red reverse polarity indicators provide an immediate visual warning if an input source is wired incorrectly, allowing you to disconnect and rectify the issue before routing power to your downstream appliances.

Built for Industrial and Marine Longevity

At the core of the panel is an industrial-grade 9077 series rotary switch rated for 65A at 240V AC. Unlike standard residential switches that can degrade under high inductive loads or constant vibration, this robust switch assembly is designed for positive engagement and low contact resistance. The 5052-grade aluminium faceplate provides rigid structural support while maintaining a clean, professional aesthetic on any helm, electrical locker, or off-grid control board. It is also supplied with an AC rotary panel label set to clearly identify your specific input configuration.

Please note: This panel is designed strictly for source selection and isolation. Overcurrent circuit protection and residual current devices must be installed externally in accordance with Australian electrical standards (such as AS/NZS 3004 for marine or AS/NZS 3001 for transportable structures).

Upgrade Your AC Power Management

Ensure safe, reliable switching between your shore power, generator, and inverter inputs. Integrate this heavy-duty AC Rotary Panel into your marine or off-grid electrical system today for professional-grade source control.
