Blue Sea 240VAC 65A 3-Position Rotary Source Selector Switch
Blue Sea 240VAC 65A 3-Position Rotary Source Selector Switch
UL-Listed Dual 120/240V AC Changeover for Panels up to 4mm Thick

DESCRIPTION
Reliable Dual AC Source Management for Marine, RV, and Off-Grid Power Systems
The Blue Sea Systems 9077B Rotary AC Source Selector Switch provides dependable manual control for alternating current power distribution. Engineered for demanding environments, this heavy-duty switch allows operators to seamlessly select between two separate 120V or 240V AC power sources and route the chosen input to a single load circuit. Whether managing power between shore power and an onboard generator in a marine vessel, or switching between grid power and an inverter in an off-grid setup, this selector ensures safe, isolated transitions.
In high-amperage AC systems, preventing back-feeding and accidental source cross-connection is critical. Unlike uncertified switching components that may suffer from contact arcing or premature mechanical failure under high loads, this industrial-rated switch is specifically built to handle continuous loads up to 65A. Its intuitive three-position rotary mechanism requires only one-hand operation, passing through a positive 'OFF' position before engaging the secondary power source to protect sensitive downstream electronics and power generation equipment.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual Source Selection: Safely switches one load circuit between two independent 120V/240V AC power sources, eliminating the risk of dangerous phase cross-connection.
- High-Capacity 65A Rating: Supports substantial AC loads, making it suitable for main distribution panels in large recreational vehicles, commercial boats, and off-grid cabins.
- Industrial-Grade Construction: Features a robust blue housing and heavy-duty screw terminals designed to maintain secure, low-resistance electrical connections even in high-vibration environments.
- Ergonomic One-Hand Operation: The tactile black rotary knob and clearly numbered 3-position faceplate provide immediate visual confirmation of the active power source.
- Streamlined Panel Mounting: Designed for clean integration into custom or existing electrical switchboards, accommodating panel thicknesses up to 0.16" (approx. 4.00mm).
- UL Listed Compliance: Meets stringent safety and performance standards for peace of mind in professional and compliant electrical installations.
Engineered for Harsh Electrical Environments
Blue Sea Systems is renowned across the marine and mobile power industries for producing switchgear that withstands harsh operational conditions. The compact rear housing protects the internal switching contacts while offering accessible, heavy-duty screw terminals that accept large-gauge wiring required for 65A circuits. This ensures minimal voltage drop and reduces the risk of thermal build-up at the terminal junctions.
Installation and System Integration
This rotary switch is designed for rear panel mounting into switchboards, distribution enclosures, or control consoles up to 0.16" (approx. 4.00mm) thick. Please note that this unit functions strictly as an isolation and source selector switch; it does not provide overcurrent protection. For a compliant and safe electrical system, appropriate circuit breakers or fuses must be installed upstream to protect the wiring and connected appliances.
Common Applications
- Marine Vessels: Switching between dockside shore power and an onboard marine generator.
- Caravans, RVs, and Motorhomes: Selecting between mains campsite hook-up and a high-output 240V inverter.
- Off-Grid and Backup Power: Manually transferring loads between utility power and a backup generator in remote sheds or mobile workspaces.
Upgrade your AC power distribution panel with the Blue Sea 65A Rotary Selector Switch to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant manual source switching across your electrical system.
