Blue Sea 230VAC 65A 8363 Rotary Panel 3 Pole OFF + 2 Positions
3-Pole Shore & Generator Switch with Polarity LEDs & Alloy Faceplate

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty 230V/240V AC Source Selector Panel for Marine and Off-Grid Power Systems
Managing multiple alternating current inputs requires a dependable, fail-safe switching mechanism. This 65A AC Rotary Panel provides a streamlined, robust method for selecting between two separate 230V AC or 240V AC power sources, such as shore power, an onboard generator, or a high-output inverter. Designed for systems where primary circuit protection is housed in a separate distribution board, this compact AC source selector switch safely isolates inputs to prevent hazardous back-feeding and electrical faults.
Engineered for Harsh Marine and Mobile Environments
Unlike standard commercial switchgear that can corrode or degrade in high-moisture environments, this rotary selector panel is built from heavy-duty 1/8" (approx. 3.18mm) 5052 marine-grade aluminium alloy. Finished with an industrial two-part polyurethane slate grey coating, the faceplate resists salt mist, humidity, and mechanical wear. It is an ideal fit for marine vessels, commercial service vehicles, and off-grid energy enclosures across Australia.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual AC Source Switching: Effortlessly transition a single load circuit between two independent 230V/240V AC inputs with a positive-action rotary selector knob (2 positions + OFF).
- 3-Pole Isolation: simultaneously switches Active, Neutral, and Earth/Ground paths (where applicable by system design) to ensure complete isolation between incompatible power sources.
- Integrated Diagnostic LEDs: Features dual green LED indicators to confirm live power availability at each source, alongside dedicated red LED indicators that provide immediate visual warning of dangerous reverse polarity conditions before you engage the load.
- Marine-Grade Construction: Constructed from 1/8" (approx. 3.18mm) 5052 aluminium alloy with a durable two-part polyurethane finish for long-term corrosion resistance.
- High Current Capacity: Rated up to 65A maximum amperage to support demanding air conditioning units, battery chargers, and heavy galley or workshop appliances.
Enhanced Electrical Safety and Risk Reduction
Connecting to unfamiliar shore power pedestals or temporary generator setups carries the risk of miswired supply lines. Reversed active and neutral conductors can bypass single-pole circuit breakers and energise appliance chassis, creating severe shock hazards and damaging sensitive onboard electronics. The integrated red reverse polarity indicators allow operators to verify line safety at a glance before switching the rotary dial from the OFF position.
Additionally, using a dedicated mechanical rotary switch eliminates the risk of simultaneous source connection. By physically preventing shore power and generator or inverter outputs from meeting on the same bus, you protect expensive inverters and alternators from catastrophic phase-clash damage.
Installation Considerations and System Integration
This panel is specifically engineered as a compact switching module for installations where overcurrent and residual current circuit protection (such as circuit breakers and RCDs) are already provided upstream or downstream in the electrical system. Please note that circuit breakers are not included on this panel. Its compact footprint allows it to be mounted easily in tight helm stations, electrical lockers, or custom control cabinets.
- Marine Vessels: Switch cleanly between dockside shore power and an onboard marine generator.
- Off-Grid Cabins and Tiny Homes: Select between mains grid supply and a backup generator or standalone inverter system.
- Commercial & Emergency Vehicles: Manage external site hook-ups and onboard auxiliary power units safely.
