Black 230V AC electrical distribution panel with source selection lockout and 32A breaker

Blue Sea 230VAC 32A 360 Panel 2 Sources

DESCRIPTION

Safe and Reliable Dual AC Source Selection for Marine and Off-Grid Systems

Managing multiple alternating current power inputs requires robust safety mechanisms and clear visual feedback. The Panel 360 230V AC 2 Sources 32A distribution module provides a streamlined, professional solution for switching between two separate 230V AC inputs, such as shore power and an onboard generator or inverter. Engineered as part of the modular 360 Panel System, this unit is ideally suited for marine vessels, motorhomes, RV conversions, and specialised off-grid power architectures where space is at a premium and electrical compliance is critical.

Mechanical Lockout Protection

One of the primary hazards in multi-source AC electrical systems is the accidental simultaneous connection of two live power feeds. Backfeeding shore power into an active generator or inverter can cause catastrophic equipment failure and pose severe electrical risks. This panel mitigates that danger entirely through an integrated mechanical lockout slide. The physical slider ensures that only one double-pole circuit breaker can be engaged at any given time, requiring the operator to manually disconnect the active source before switching to the secondary input. This provides fail-safe manual transfer functionality without relying on complex electronic relays that can fail in harsh environments.

Integrated Circuit Protection and System Diagnostics

Equipped with two pre-installed 32A double-pole A-Series raised rocker magnetic-hydraulic circuit breakers, this unit switches both active and neutral conductors simultaneously. Double-pole breaking is an essential safety requirement for 230V AC marine and mobile installations, ensuring complete isolation of the downstream load when a breaker is switched off or tripped.

To improve operational awareness, the panel features dedicated LED status indicators for both power inputs:

  • Mechanical Source Lockout Slide: Physically prevents connecting two 230V AC power sources at the same time, protecting onboard inverters and generators from backfeed damage.
  • Dual 32A Double-Pole Breakers: Features raised rocker magnetic-hydraulic circuit breakers that isolate both active and neutral lines for superior safety and overcurrent protection.
  • Reverse Polarity Warning LEDs: Pre-installed red LEDs immediately alert the operator if active and neutral lines are swapped on the incoming shore power or generator feed.
  • Power Available Indicators: Green LEDs clearly confirm when live 230V AC voltage is present at either input before the circuit breaker is engaged.
  • Backlit Label Positions: Enhances visibility and legibility in low-light cabin, helm, or electrical locker environments.
  • Modular 360 Panel Footprint: Compact dimensions allow seamless integration alongside other 360 Series DC, AC, and monitoring modules.

Engineered for Harsh Marine and Mobile Environments

Inferior switching panels often lack polarity diagnostics or rely on single-pole breakers that leave the neutral line connected, creating hidden shock hazards when connecting to unfamiliar shore power pedestals. By incorporating red Reverse Polarity LEDs directly onto the fascia, this panel allows users to identify wiring faults at the marina dock or site post before engaging the main 32A breaker and exposing sensitive onboard appliances to incorrect wiring.

The raised rocker actuator design provides positive tactile operation while helping prevent accidental switching in high-vibration or rough-sea conditions. Whether you are upgrading an ageing boat switchboard or designing a custom off-grid power distribution board for a commercial vehicle, this dual-source selector delivers dependable, standards-conscious AC management.

Upgrade Your AC Power Distribution

Ensure safe, isolated switching between your shore power and generator feeds. Add the Panel 360 230V AC 32A dual-source selector to your electrical system configuration today for reliable circuit protection and seamless power management.
