Blue Sea 230VAC 16A Main, 22-Position 8A-Per-Circuit Distribution Panel

DESCRIPTION

Centralised 230V AC Electrical Distribution for Demanding Marine and Off-Grid Systems

Managing multiple alternating current loads in a marine vessel, large motorhome, or off-grid cabin requires a reliable and organised electrical hub. The Blue Sea Systems 230VAC 16A Main, 22-Position Distribution Panel provides a comprehensive, professional-grade solution for safely distributing shore power, generator output, or inverter supply across your essential branch circuits. Engineered for high-capacity AC electrical systems, this panel streamlines complex installations while offering clear visual monitoring and robust circuit protection.

Streamlined Installation with Fully Pre-Wired Buses

Building a custom AC switchboard from individual components can be time-consuming and prone to wiring errors. This distribution panel arrives fully pre-wired from the factory, featuring pre-installed hot, neutral, and safety ground buses. By consolidating the bus connections into a single, cohesive unit, it eliminates the need to source and link separate busbars. This integrated design reduces installation time, minimises potential points of failure, and ensures a clean, serviceable layout behind the dash or inside your electrical locker.

Enhanced Safety and Low-Light Visibility

When dealing with 230V AC power, immediate system feedback is critical for protecting both onboard equipment and personnel. This panel incorporates a dedicated red reverse-polarity LED indicator, providing an instant visual warning if active and neutral conductors are accidentally swapped at the shore power inlet or generator source. Preventing reverse polarity is vital for avoiding damage to sensitive appliances and reducing shock hazards.

For day-to-day operation in dimly lit cabins, wheelhouses, or engine rooms, the panel features integrated backlighting across all label positions without requiring an additional kit. Each of the 22 branch positions is also equipped with a green ON-indicating LED, allowing operators to confirm at a glance which circuits are actively drawing power.

Key Features and System Benefits

  • Master Circuit Control: Incorporates a 16A double-pole main circuit breaker, offering simultaneous isolation of active and neutral lines for complete system shutdown and overcurrent protection.
  • Extensive Branch Capacity: Provides 22 circuit positions rated up to 8A per circuit, paired with spare expansion slots fitted with blanking plugs for future system upgrades.
  • Fully Pre-Wired Architecture: Factory-installed hot, neutral, and safety ground buses simplify the termination process and ensure consistent electrical conductivity.
  • Active Safety Monitoring: Built-in red LED alerts the user to dangerous reverse-polarity conditions before branch circuits are engaged.
  • Clear Visual Status: Individual green status LEDs and standard backlit labels deliver effortless circuit identification and monitoring in dark environments.

Built for Complex AC Power Management

Unlike standard domestic switchboards that may struggle with the vibration and moisture present in mobile and marine applications, Blue Sea Systems panels are purpose-built for harsh environments. The magnetic-hydraulic toggle breakers provide dependable switching and precise trip characteristics, ensuring your air conditioning, water heaters, battery chargers, and galley appliances receive stable protection. Upgrade your vessel or off-grid power system with a centralised, pre-wired 230V AC distribution panel engineered for safety and longevity.
