Blue Sea 230VAC 16A 4-Position Distribution Panel with 2 Main Breakers
Dual-Source Lockout Slide, Double-Pole Mains & Pre-Wired Buses

DESCRIPTION
Safe, Dual-Source 230V AC Power Management for Marine and Off-Grid Systems
Managing alternating current in mobile, marine, and off-grid environments requires strict adherence to electrical safety standards and reliable component architecture. The Blue Sea Systems 8567B AC Distribution Panel is engineered to provide secure, centralised control over two distinct 230VAC power sources, such as shore power, an onboard generator, or a standalone inverter. By integrating two 16A double-pole main circuit breakers alongside four individual 8A branch circuits, this distribution assembly simplifies complex AC electrical installations while safeguarding downstream appliances.
Integrated Mechanical Lockout for Source Protection
A primary hazard in dual-source AC systems is the accidental simultaneous connection of two active power supplies, which can cause severe phase conflicts, inverter damage, and dangerous back-feeding. To mitigate this risk, this panel comes equipped with a heavy-duty mechanical lockout slide. This physical interlock ensures that only one 16A double-pole main breaker can be switched to the active position at any given time. Unlike basic switchboard assemblies that rely on manual operator vigilance or complex external relays, the integrated slide provides a foolproof, tactile transfer mechanism right at the helm or control cabinet.
Comprehensive Circuit Isolation and Polarity Diagnostics
In marine and caravan 230VAC installations, isolating both the active (hot) and neutral conductors is essential for system safety. The double-pole configuration of the main 16A breakers disconnects both lines simultaneously, protecting the vessel or vehicle from stray currents and potential faults originating from external shore power pedestals. Furthermore, the panel includes a dedicated red reverse-polarity LED indicator. If an external AC connection is wired incorrectly, this visual warning immediately alerts the operator before sensitive onboard electronics are engaged and potentially compromised.
Key Features and System Benefits
- Dual 16A Double-Pole Mains: Safely isolates both active and neutral conductors across two separate 230VAC inputs.
- Mechanical Source Lockout Slide: Prevents connecting two AC sources simultaneously, protecting inverters and generators from back-feed damage.
- Four 8A Branch Circuits: Dedicated switching and overcurrent protection for individual onboard appliances, outlets, and chargers.
- Pre-Wired Bus Architecture: Supplied with hot, neutral, and safety-ground buses fully installed and pre-wired to reduce installation time and wiring errors.
- Enhanced Visibility: Features backlit circuit label positions and individual green ON indicator LEDs for clear status monitoring in low-light cabins or electrical lockers.
- Reverse Polarity Warning: Integrated red LED provides immediate diagnostic feedback if incoming shore or site power is improperly wired.
Streamlined Installation and Low-Light Operation
Designed for professional marine electricians and dedicated system builders, the rear of the panel comes with the hot, neutral, and safety-ground buses pre-installed and factory wired. This significantly reduces cabinet clutter, minimises the risk of loose terminations caused by engine or road vibration, and accelerates fit-out times. Once installed, the standard backlit labels and individual circuit-on LEDs allow operators to identify active loads at a glance, even in dark companionways or unlit utility bays.
